@ BB- Dave; Lived in Plattsburgh and Rome, NY back in the '70's for a little bit (dad was military)- those pictures remind me of "New Delta Terrace" just outside of Lee Center, NY. Lived at 6325 Wager Drive if my memory is right

Angelo's In Fullerton.

Just found this thread and was a kick to find mention of Angelo's in Fullerton. Once cruising was killed on Whittier Blvd. the cruising moved to Angelo's on State College in Fullerton. Back then the street cruising was several blocks long and you only got to cruise through their parking lot by being selected by their guy out on the curb who only pulled in the best to cruise their building.
Angelo's is still there, but no cruising any more.

Wish I had pics of my cars back then, but let's start off with what my 1st wife and I use to cruise Whittier Blvd. in back then and then I'll move on to Angelo's:
Whittier Blvd. - 1969 through mid-70s
My car - '69 340 Swinger, Charger Red, white stripe, Cragars, nasty 340 with big cam/headers/Offy Dual-Port 360/750 Holley, reverse-pattern manual shift 727, 4.89 gears, G60-14 Polyglas tires were the biggest I could fit in the rear wheelwells.
Her car - '70 Charger, triple black, aluminum slot mags, L60-15 rear Goodyears

In Sept. '73 we ordered a brand new '74 Pontiac TransAm, Buccaneer red, black interior, 455. Beautiful car

Now, 1983 and Angelo's in Fullerton. We'd just taken delivery of a brand new '84 Hurst Olds and headed to Angelo's on cruise night. Cruised past the first time and the lot was full but their guy on the curb saw the car, stopped us and said, "Go around again and I'll get you in for sure."

Also a beautiful car...and the Hurst Lightning Rods shifter was an absolute blast to drive.

Thanks for the trip back to memory lane!

Every time I see one of these, I wish I had mine back!!!

Mine---about 1973, had the 340 in it then. "Was" a 440-6, 4 speed, Dana 3.54, headers, Edelbrock, Holley 800/ 850 and a few others. Aftermarket A/C. No good photos, anymore. You can't see it here, but it the black hood and air grabber. It was a "non CA" car, so had no carbon can.

First photo below is not long before I bought the car from my friend and original owner. He's just trophied in pure stock at Long Beach. I still stay in contact with him.

Next, me, were we REALLY that young???

Last is just after the (that's right) 340 went in. This was "the start" of the "first" gas crunch. I thought I wanted to drag race my 64, and wanted better mileage for the car I had to drive. That much of the plan was OK. Chrysler should have put the 340s in the B cars from the getgo in 68. They would have been a great combo.

Yeh, heh. I know...........plastic fuel filter..........red plug wires..........ugly valve covers...........
