72 Swinger Project

Thanks. I will be glad when it is running. There is almost nothing that has not been replaced at this point.

Busy with wounded warrior fishing work for the non-profit. Only progress is blasting and priming wheels. Should have it rolling and a stance pic in the next couple of weeks.

Well I am getting closer. No new pics, just alot of detail stuff getting done. I took a break from this one to work on my wife's car to get it going. Still need some minor interior stuff for my 74. Took it to a car show on the 4th and got some looks. Just ordered a complete X exhaust from TTI with flowmasters. Exhaust is complete from front to back. All new fuel lines and components. All new brakes and hardware. 10 inch drums in back with new ebrake assembly. Willwood slotted and drilled up front on the HDK set-up. Almost ready to spark this car up.

Ok. Working on the wife's Camaro. Got the trans back from the shop. Got the torque converter from Jegs. Bought a parts car for the posi rear and spent the day not wanting to be angry because it wasn't! I hate people who lie. Helped my buddy change the seals in a 2500 4x4 transfer case. Have a few parts to paint and it will be on to installing motor and trans. Then back to the 72.....

Ok. Car finally on all fours. After a pile of time getting the wheels the body color they won't work. Offset all wrong on front and back.

Everything I read had the stock police wheels fitting with no issues, but I was wrong as the rear fender clearance is different than my 74. Don't have a ton in the steelies so I guess it is time to measure back spacing and order some custom wheels. I still want the sleeper look. I think the Cragars are all wrong for what I would like to see.

Not sure why the image keeps rotating....any way...finished wiring motor and getting trans, driveshaft and other connections finished. Need to plumb motor and trans and then I will be done.

A little forward movement on the car. A few parts on order in stainless 3/8" fuel lines, radiator overflow canister, some knick knack hardware. Damn I want to get this done!

And now someone wants to buy it as it sits. Uh no! Would be nice if it was done though. Then I could make a move on a 72 Demon 318 near my house.

Ok. So held the buyer at bay. Not happening. 1972 Demon down the street was not what I wanted. Picked up 72 from ChallengerGary and will get that done a bit at a time.

Yeah. I thought about retiring but decided another 4 years fit the bill. Another 10% towards retirement and up for promotion this spring. I have another couple of bugs to work out on the wife's car and it will be done. Just some wiring stuff. The thing is ridiculously fast. And she thought it was fast with the stock 305 when her parents got it for her.....

Ok, finally getting around to getting the exhaust on from the headers back. It appears that I did not pay full attention to the order. Had flowmaster 40s but ended up with 3 inch instead of 2 1/2 inch X pipe. Concerned about too much scavenging with my motor making just under 10:1 compression.
