73' B3 340 Duster pro touring build

that is a lot of milling... looking good

Actually the difference between the 1ST pic and the 2ND pic is all done by hand no machine work here. I first used a 4 1/2" electric grinder with a 60 grit flap disc to remove the remainer of the ribs then used paint stripper to remove the remainer of the baked on Black paint and then used a dual action sander starting with a 80 grit working up to 220 to achieve the finish you see in the second pic.

Mark,
Make sure you go back a page to see the comparison between the look we talked about.

What if you did the Twister emblem kind of subtle? Maybe polish the valvecovers and then sandblast Twister on them.

Ross, I dont think you need "TWISTER" on the valve covers......... Dont get me wrong I really like them but after seeing the covers without them I was sold. My 2cents

Will the twister logo be a theme occurring elsewhere?

X2...........JMHO..........(not my car of course).

btw, i like the twister callout on there, plain polish reminds me too much of every "custom" chevy at the car show :p

That will be funny when the car show experts think its a Nova with a big block "Rat" motor. I might add something to them.... I just wont cut the logo into the cover so it's so permanent.

Never looked into the Subtle possibilities...Thanks I'll get the gears turning on that option also.

Maybe a flat black version under the flat Black side stripe but modified a little and the word "Wicked"(small and suttle) in red. But as everything in this build its all subject to change without notice.

Wow! You do some top notch work! Can't wait to see this car finished.

Thanks, I appreciate the compliment....I think theres a few people waiting to see the car finished, Including me. I will be going to see the car Sunday afternoon (after the Nats) and do a final test fit on the front bumper and hopefully see some progress(and take some pics), In the mean time I'll just keep getting all the parts refinished and assembled.

They were called "dagmars."

Thanks John for answering that for me......and since your closer to him than me,
how about giving Brother Denny a classic back of the head slap for that one.
You guys have been found out to be mere amateurs.
