73' B3 340 Duster pro touring build

-
Wow deja vu. Been there with my 67 cuda build a couple years ago. Couldent afford a new floor pan, and my torsion bar crossmember had been hacked thru by a.careless previous owner. I used a clean crossmember, and clean used floorpan from a 74 dart 4 door. All the spotweld cutting you had to do X2. Awesome job so far on the duster.

Do you have pix of the XV radiator support. I bought a tubular dillinger bar for the lower support on mine to tie the framerails together. I used 2x3" by 1/8" thick square stock for my subframe connectors, layed it sideways. Did mine similar to bigblockdart.com. Cost me about $25 in materials.strong as hell. Naybe can save you some money over the cartool pieces.

Matt

Thanks Matt,
If I do another one I'll consider it, Back on page 2, 3 or 4 there should be some good picks of the XV support, I specifically went with the U.S Car Tool subframe connectors for thesimple fact that I really like the way they follow the contour of the floorpan. I wanted something at the time I installed them that Brand X car people wouldn't know if they were added or they came that way from the factory.

I wish I had the Mod Man Multi-port intake before I post these pics but I'm kinda pumped about todays delivery so without further delay here is another cool engine add on part for the 416" to make it a little more unique. Dual Polished FAST EFI throttle bodies (1375 CFM each), FAST Dual sync distributor, FAST 2.0 XFI 2.0 and all the wiring and sensors. I'm still waiting on a Indy Mod Man LA intake converted to run Multi port EFI with Bosch injectors (44 lb/hr) and 18" FAST fuel rails being set up by Richard Nedbal from Fastman EFI. The bottom Picture is a unmodified Mod Man intake without the top plate that I decided to go with. Another thing I think is really cool is the fact that the throttle bodies are only 2" tall, no hood clearance problems here since I did raise the motor up about 1".

It must be old News to everyone...... 300 + views since last night and only 1 real response from Joe Dokes ! (You already saw it before hand). I thought the last post would have really gotten the FABO guys (and Gals) hopping on the comment board, but crickets again, I starting to think I should only post once a month with updates.:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

If it helps, I have been watching all post in awe.

Thanks....It just makes me question if this type of build is not really popular on this type of website and it would be more accepable on a Pro Touring site although there catered toward the GM/Ford stuff.

Ross,

I hope these work so well that Denny will have no choice but to
replace his Edelbrock carbs with them (I have been hounding him).

He mentioned a little bird chirpin' in his ear about swapping over but he didn't say it was you...After I told him the total price he might be dragging his feet a little longer.

I had a single one on a low-deck 496 briefly before I sold it.

Killer response and flawless performance once (easily) dialed in.

I don't think Denny is dragging his feet because of the cost, in my opinion if he is dragging his feet its because he is a product of earlier hot rodding influences. Small cars, big engines and at least 2 4BBL's! What's that saying about an old dog and new tricks? :burnout:

Now you (Ross) need to light a fire under your bodymans ***......

I would agree 100%, I didn't mean he couldn't afford it just that he has a working system already so why spend the $$$$$. I needed to spend the money on a carb, intake and distributor anyway so that helped influence my decision. As far as the body man goes, if you know a tactic that lights a fire under body men please pass it on !!!!

I like it !!!....maybe a winter project. Besides the $$$$, by now...it is plug and play..... I still like knowing why things work like they do/tuning/ tweeking.....it is a major part of being a hot rodder to me....but that's me.

I would rather place my efforts on building/adding B/E K frames next.....after I finish a couple of A body projects for a few friends.

can't wait till my cad guy gets done moving and is back on-line.

Damn C.A.D guy, Doesn't he realize the Nats are only a couple weeks away and that's all thats holding my project up from making it ...Oh wait , I dont have the body back from paint either or the Motor assembled or all the interior finished ........never mind.

I don't like looking at this build just for the simple fact that it makes me jealous as hell! Popular here or not, this build is incredible to me.

:wack:

No way- this is my single favorite thread on this site and one of the few I discuss outside of FABO irl (you know when you have to go outside and talk to people)

You belong here! :blob:
