I ran across a good deal locally, and was wondering if 28-10.5-15 tires will fit on a mini-tubbed 73 Dart Swinger. The only problem I think might be the height.Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

They shoud fit with lots of room as long as they don't have some funky back spacing. You are right on the hight. They may clear but they may also rub on the front part of the wheel opening. If they do you will need to either move the rear back a little. That can be gone with some blocks behind the front hangers or cut and radies the front part of the wheel well opening.

I'll probably open the wheel well if need be.Thank you

Thats true. A 10.5 tire is not all that wide for a car that has been tubbed. I would first do the measuring of what you got then buy wheels that fit. No reason to have the tires sticking out if you have that much wheel well to work with. If you keep the tire inside the lip you will have some extra room to work with and a 28 will fit with out having to cut any thing. Time to get out the tape.

Don't cut the wheel well, get the proper backspacing on the wheels....

I have rims with the correct back spacing, and width is not an issue. The issue is height.28" measures to be close, but the tires are going to grow abit when they get hot.

I just went out and took a tape to my 70 Dart. Same wheel wells as yours. Look like it is going to be very close with a 28. The fender lip sticks out another 2 inch from the wheel well so if the tire sits in far enough in the well it will miss it and have room. If the rim does not have enough BS on it the lip looks like it will be in the way and wll need cut or there is enough room to move the rear back about 1 inch. You can do that buy putting a 1 inch block behind the front hanger.
