Little more done on the brackets. I plan to cut one side where it will be connected and add 1/4 plate flipped opposite direction. The thicker side bolts to the inner bumper and shoulders more weight. I will plug weld that and weld at seams. Then I can drill my slots so it can be adjusted up and down side to side. Ran out of gas had to go get more. Decided before I flipped other end for shorter side that I wanted to brace that up a bit. This is a fraction of the weight of the old factory POS shock mounts. I could not find anything and the site who makes the aluminum seemed off so I avoided the .190 mill ones. I saw conflicting things on them working with my stock bumper.
If your interested in the bumper mounts for rear 73 and up let me know I will produce some for sale if I get some interest for now I will make five sets. For five people I'm not looking for huge profit I see a need here as those factory mounts were heavy ugly bumper stuck out and looked terrible. Let me know if interested. I don't have a price yet even but I'm guessing one 100 bucks plus shipping. These will not be aluminum will hold factory bumper full set.
I finally get to join in the fun and leave my Jeeping behind for a bit. Picked this up off the site for sale. Still waiting on shipping but super excited none the less!
Received my nine yards of white pleated vinyl. Great stuff just like sample I ordered. The wood look will be gone all cards will be white with the blue top. I plan to also ditch the wood grain glove box door and climate gauge control panel and new autometer Invision digital gauge cluster. Little bit of money but this will be a nice driver. With the white vinyl decals going to look exciting for sure. I will respray the panels and headliner and rear package tray with OER I used on door handles. I will try to save the chrome separater and put in the same general area in pleated line. I think that with blue door handle and arm rest will look great and have some nice contrast. I know hard to keep clean meh not a worrying. I'm taking some liberties now and making my own. Plan to do the Resto sound radio as well the tier two with Bluetooth should be fine.
Drivers side installed all in all so far nothing I can't do just work and time. I still have to do the door top panel I'm aware. I like the wood gone and can't wait to see it all in.
Cut and buffed hood turning out great. Car is next eventually not in rush little pissed about slow machine shop and builder. Ridiculous if I worked this way I would not have a god darn job. Oklahoma is warm plenty of time to enjoy the car.
Its coming along nicely oddly enough I saw this after I did it on a Oklahoma Mopar resto shop and picture of Duster they did. This with white decals is going to look great.
