Question for you guys, as I’ve been buying parts and stuff isn’t working out well on my swap.
About my car, it started out as a 6 cylinder car. Person I got it from modified the motor mounts to work with a set made for v8 converting. They were spool style
I purchase a set of Holley mounts, but didn’t see until I went to install that they said they don’t work on a 6 cylinder kframe. So found a 71 biscuit style kframe and got it bolted in. Ordered a set of mounts I thought would work from an E body, but you guessed it, didn’t work haha.
I finally got a set of TTI motor mounts for my Duster. Got everything bolted in. Happy so far with the motor mounts, but attempted to bolt in the drivers side manifold I got from a 2015 jeep grand Cherokee, due to not wanting to drop another grand into just headers. I’ve got the engine up enough where the manifold doesn’t touch the manual steering box, but now my steering shaft is my next hurdle.
Does anyone have any recommendations on what to do or swap out to where I can connect my steering shaft to the box, as right now that big “square” part that attaches to the shaft and slips over the splined shaft of the box will not fit.

Ok, I’ll pull the column back out and take that square coupler off, and trim that tube as well. Weird tho, the tube isn’t contacting the valve cover? I’ll trim it either way, cuz soon as I say that, it’ll hit it hahaha. Thanks for the info guys! I was curious if I’d have to use that style of coupler to make it work

I'm positive you'll have to trim. The coupler was only the first thing to hit stuff. I have pics of it in my thread.

Ok thanks for the link! I’m going to manual transmission, so I can cut off the automatic shifter linkage and make more room hopefully
It's tight, but, I still retained the column shift. Doesn't matter in your case, as you stated. You will really like the swap. People say it's not for the faint of heart. Reality is, you do NOT have to spend mega bucks to do a gen 3 swap. Don't be afraid to ask questions here. Lots of gen 3 knowledge. Good luck with it!!

I believe people, including me, are spoiled with LS swaps where’s it’s super easy and there’s a lot of support for it.
I’ve done a couple of diesel swaps, one LS swap, this is my first mopar swap.
I had an RT with 5.7 and an SRT with a 6.4 and loved those cars! They were both challengers. Loved the power both those engines had. So when I picked up this Duster, I said, I’m for sure doing a hemi swap haha. But I have learned, parts for any of these hemis are usually far away when you need to order something So the wait times kill me lol.
Thanks for the help so far!
