Damn. If I was just a little closer I'd go have some fun with him. Doesn't anyone check the going rate before they try to sell something? Here's a 73 with one of those rare 318s. But this one has a pistol grip four speed. A bonus is the owner of this one lives on this planet. You probably saw it while you were looking.

"I know what the car is worth."
Uhhh... NO, you do not.

somebody better jump on this before its gone !!! once and a lifetime opportunity there ! ..

" it was my project an dont have time for it anymore " ....... what the hell did he do? looks like he didn't even touch it !!

Must be the altitude causing delirium....or just someone who is not well informed.

I wonder how you identify the rare 318 from the tens of thousands of non-rare 318s that were built from 67 to '92? Or maybe even until 2002 if you count the magnum in the mix....

he needs the Count (counting cars)to blow some $$ his way-- Lawrence

''I know what it's worth''
Well, i know what it's not worth, and it's 10 grand.

It is a clean body. I'm from the northeast and I've had two of the 73 models with the equally rare 340s. They were both parted out due to rust and no aftermarket support (back in the 90s). I like that black one - and it's a factory AC car too. that's pretty cool. Still not 6K cool, but cool.

I thinks you are missing the meaning of the ad you get a almost perfect field find and the acreage it is sitting on for 10,000 or maybe the person posting the ad forgot were the period is on the key board. I'm sorry but I have given away car that ran and were nicer than this one

So 318's are rare now....I must have a gem then getting ready to go into the Valiant....But wait, now I ruined it with all the machine work and stuff :( lol.

Just rediculous, lol.

Lets not be too quick to label. It may be rare if it's an original 74 RR with the 318 4 barrel with duel exhaust and a 4 speed. We have one, all correct numbers sitting outside of the shop. They only built a handfull of these cars.

Look closer at the pics. It has a gaping hole in the dogleg of the passenger fender, and rust along the lower edge of the driver quarter. Anyway I agree on the black car it's a cool project for someone at the right price.

I think everybody is jealous of him. He has the best smoke around.

There were 11,000 74 roadrunners and most were 318s so it's not rare in any benefit of doubt. Now if it were a 74 440 it would be a little rare with under 400 made. Now the 73 black car does have 440 callouts on the hood. If some idiot swapped the 440 for a 318 then at least that car has more potential. I think the real problem here is counting cars did a similar body style sebring and got like 20k for it. This guy has Count syndrome, similar to Barrett syndrome.

318 4 speed is somewhat rare, but a 340 or even a 400 auto is considered much more desireable in most people's books.

I've never heard or seen any documentation on 318 4 barrel cars until the very late 70's. What was the VIN code for that in 1974?

My research does indicate that the 318 2 barrel dual exhaust RR (and the 318-2 rallye Charger with duals) was the 170 HP 318 listed in most auto repair manuals, even though it carried the same VIN designation of G. Every group of enthusiasts I've ever been around has been puzzled by that and usually folks like to assume it's a police motor.
