Why is the axle flange different on this 8.75?

First picture is driver

Second is passenger

The axle adjuster is supposed to be on the passenger side. They are reversed based on your description and pictures..

Thanks everyone.

And yes, I mixed up the ends of the housing. Sorry about that.

I was looking at the spring perches, but apparently on this housing they are on top of the axle tube. This came from a 70s pickup.

No, I already have an 8.75 A body housing, I’m just pulling the carrier from this one for the Sure Grip.

Incidentally, this housing is available for anyone in the southern AZ area!

If you check my post, I said "supposed" to be on the passenger side. Meaning that there could be other possibilities found.
Hey, I bought a B-Body 8-3/4 axle a few years ago from a friend's estate and I found that there were adjusters on both sides.
I sold it the same way that I found it, but I knew if having two adjuster would create a problem or not.

ma mopar had a lot of inconsistancies for sure.
I bought a new 68 barracuda fastback in 1968 , I didnt have enough sense to keep it or the paperwork , the window tag stated that they were out of 383`s when it was built and had the roadrunner engine , I didnt know any better , and have only heard of ''one'' other , they said it was rated at 330 h.p. because of the drivers side exhaust manifold , versus a b body manifold . =5 h.p. diff.
I do know it was almost uncontrollable on the tires back then , about like my buddies 66 chevy 11 w/ a 365 horse 327 in it .

Can use 2 adjusters to slightly move the axle flanges from side to side to correct for off center housing for tight tire clearance on one side only...
