I don't quite understand yet what were looking at here believe it or not lol, but is that just out of a service manual or? I will have to read up more to properly understand what needs to be done.

In an earlier post you said:

That is the linkage your mechanic was speaking of. And yes, it is in the FSM. The note to grind the ramp is my note when you get into a case that the FSM procedure doesn't work.
Probably not the factory shifter, but adjustments are basically the same.
