A 1974 Duster - My 2nd one, 41 years later!

JD, I really think this clear is amazing. It is easy to work with and lays out super smooth. Just like the guy in the video thinks 50 psi is too much, so do I. I shot it at 35 psi and waited 30 min. in-between coats. I like this guys reviews... seems to me he calls it like he see's it. This is his review of AllKandy's Wet Wet clear:

AUTOBAHN ALLKANDY WET WET PLUS CLEAR COAT

 I like Gunman's videos. My first thought when I saw 50 psi was you'd have to go 90 mph painting, or use an old suction gun! The only thing I use a suction gun for anymore is to paint some crap my wife wants done with Rustoleum....lol.

I know Mopar didn't do it this way...but this is how I did mine. The black wraps the sides and back of the hood 1/2 way and in the front it just follows the way the hood was joined together. I will now go back and tape off all the green and spray the final coat of black and flat clear.

ought to be about time for some more green????....over the New Year holiday maybe?

Yes, doing Doors next. Then prep jambs. Tape it all off...then Green. I'm going as fast as I can. I just ordered 1 gallon of the gloss clear yesterday.

I am out of the gloss clear at the moment...So, I'll be prepping the insides of the doors and the jambs while I am waiting on the clear to arrive.

Outstanding Job Alex, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you. Keep up the outstanding job, looks wonderful....

Happy New Year to all my Mopar pals!!! Hopefully 2018 is the year I get to drive my Duster. I estimated it would take me 3 years to finish, June 15th marks 3 years.

Happy New Year. I love your post, and look forward to checking out the progress. Waiting for that green paint!

The outsides of the doors are done, but I had never addressed the insides of the doors. Gonna get on the drivers door tomorrow, hopefully spray both doors inside and outside in green/clear this coming Sat. morning.

Lil' more progress. Shot the passenger jamb in epoxy. Test fitted grill and lights. Seems to bolt in just fine.
Grill and lights haven't been in the car for more than 2 years.

Wish I could say it is green... but no. I couldn’t get the door hung up where I could paint it by myself, so I ordered a triple pulley hoisting block so I could lift it by myself. I did get the drivers side door removed and the drivers door hinge pins out. Drivers door needs a rebuild bushing kit.

1-8-18, Today I rebuilt the driver side door hinges with the new bushings and pins set. Not too difficult. Done.

Fixing my mistakes. Quite some time ago I got "ahead" of myself and painted the Passenger side jamb and all of the trunk jamb. In fact, Sireland asked a good question "Why are you painting that now"? I really had no good answer and truly it was just me getting ahead of myself wanting to see some of the green color on the car. I also got ahead of myself and installed the trunk new weather stripping seal before I should have. So I spent yesterday "righting the wrongs". Pulled off the new trunk weather stripping seal, wrecked it, yes I will have to buy another one, oh well this way there will be no paint lines from taping off at the trunk seal. Scuffed everything up and shot it all in epoxy.

Sorry, I had a small set back. I went down to the shop a week ago to spray the passenger door in Green. I was wiping it down readying it for the green paint...when I saw two small door dings. I could not ignore them. Had to sand, get the glazing putty out and fix the dings. So, I had a small set back. The door is now fixed and back in white epoxy, I just sprayed it this morning. I also finished the drivers side jamb area with the white epoxy and the hinges on the drivers side have been fixed with new bushings and pins. There is no more side stepping, Green is next.
