A 1974 Duster - My 2nd one, 41 years later!

-
Decided this morning after drilling two holes along the frame rail up into the trunk area, Gonna Mini Tub it! Shouldn't be too difficult. Of course pics will follow as the cutting begins.

Thanks again Brock! I just try to do "some" work everyday, even if it's a little, I try to do something. There is quite a bit of welding and grinding involved when doing this mini tubbing but I think the end result will be worth it.

Mini Tub passenger side all welded up. Just need to grind my "frankenstein style" welding beads down a bit, seam sealer, and then move on to the other side.

Went out to Jaws place yesterday morning to Strausburg, CO. Talked a lil' Mope and did some dealing' with Dave, Big thanks to Dave!!! Dave was nice enough to make me a super deal on a 69' A body A-833 trans, scatter shield, 4 speed linkage rods, and a beautiful dual Snorkel scoop! Some absolute needed pieces to my puzzle!

408 will be replacing Homer Bucket and stool! LOL!

Looks good, how much HP does the homer bucket make? :burnout:

A cleaned and ready to build 742 case was purchased and is on the way with Fed Ex (thanks 71Scamper). I had to decide what to put inside...I went this route: Eaton Detroit TruTrac. Got the Trutrac from Summit and is on the way as well! Next will be picking the ring and pinion gears.

just looked through your build, very cool. whats your ideas on rims and tires?

Thanks Fez! I will be running the Rally's on the BF Goodrich's. The 15x8 rear wheels can now be upgraded to 15x10's....but, not quite sure if they make the matching BF Goodrich tires that are wide enough to go on a 15x10 wheel??? I'll have to looking into it when I get there.

Been busy here. Finished all but the painting of the passenger side mini tubbing, moved on to the drivers side.

Hey Guys...Yesterday was a bad day for my wife and I. We lost our dear German Shorthair Pointer - Kali Belle. She was our 12 year old little girl. My wife and I don't have kids so she was our kid. I am sure some of you know what it feels like to lose a friend like this, to say we are devastated is an understatement, but we will get through it and I will get back to working on my Duster.

Kali Belle had a tumor on her spleen called Hemangiosarcoma. We never knew she had this, as these tumors don't show up on blood tests. It ruptured and the end was only 24 hrs away. Very difficult day to say the least. Just wanted to share with my extended Mopar family.

Alex, So sorry to hear this...The loss of a loyal member of the family is devastating.

I'm very sorry for your loss. Their little lives just aren't long enough. I think that in a way, they must know that....and that is why they love their people so willingly and unconditionally. I understand how you feel. My wife & I don't have kids either, and our little dogs are our kids too. We lost Annie, our Shi Tzu that was with us for 14 years. We miss her every day, but we now have 2 others who are great little friends that we love with all our hearts. I'm sure another one will find y'all too. R.I.P. Kali Belle. :angel12:

I lost both my Daughter, and more recently, my Miranda (dog) 4 months ago. The feelings between the two were different but the grieving was very similar. Terrible losses both! I feel for you Alex.
