A-Bodies...Big Motors / New Hemi Duster - FINAL ASSEMBLY

-
He will not be coming to the Nats..... headed to Detroit the following weekend.
I'd advise against the Dream Cruise on the weekend but he was there last year so he knows.

We are taking the silver car to Mancini's deal on Woodward on Wednesday (15th).

John....nice job on the Dart pics
Weeb....nice thrash getting the Dart a roller

you wouldn't believe what I am thinking for this Dart....step 2

Yeah.....a definate project to finish for sure. Too many unfinished
projects that need to be pushed ahead a little.

In that first picture, in the background by G2 (Weeb's other property)
and under tarp is another '67 Dart.

The original A-body Dana 60 in this green Dart is brand new and
has never been in a car before. It's from the Direct Connection
program in the '70's.

Sure hope you make it for next year. I was being shown a few
"select components" this morning that are destined for your ride.

I wish my car was as nice as your guys stuff but it will suite my purpose. I don't have a garage at my house and my shop is an hour away so keeping it up there all the time won't be any fun. So I'm building this car to be like the cars I had in school nice, but not so much as I won't leave it out side under a cover or park it at the grocery store. It's a ten footer but should be fun. I will be ordering the steel to build a rotisserie for the green car soon. Till its done the black car will have to do.

I do lots of that uh driving but also still lots of working, don't get done till 6:30 or so and then the wife says come home, not much car time left but i'm getting there.

And to think I was goona let you (Hemi-Itis) drive my car!

HemiMark wants to see his power steering setup so we
are going to leave it in the mock-up and bring it along.

I'm on vacation all week and have been spending quite a bit
of time at the shop helping Denny and Scruffs get ready for
the Nat's.

SCRUFFS!.....Wake up! It's time for your break!

.........What?

Mock-upK072_zps7629c8f8.jpg

Please don't mess with him....ever since he joined the local he copped the "attitude"

on that K-frame....just the extra $50 or $60 for the power rack....and the pump and plumbing....about 20-25 pizzas tops!

I slid in 340 mounts....just for the pic.

same K...same rack and pinion (manual or power)...same sway bar (7/8", 1", 1 1/4" your choice)...A/C

just different HDK/Schumaker spool mounts.

Using the ride height measurements from my silver Duster, with this set-up a coil over with a ride height of 13.5 is called for.....

The QA1 shock that fits that parameter has a travel of 5 3/8" (11 5/8" compressed/ 17" extended) at the shock, close to 5.75" / 6" at the spindle .....most other are using a relative short shock that limits suspension travel to only 4"

I'm pretty sure that's what will go in my green car when I get that far with it. Looks awsome Denny.
