A-Bodies...Big Motors / New Hemi Duster - FINAL ASSEMBLY

-
I'm bummed my Darts not gonna make it this year, but I look forward to seeing your cars there. (Getting extra batteries for the camera lol)

5 days and a wakeup.....and we'll be heading to Columbus
Yup.....Locking and loading.......beer break.

Actually the secret to efficient Nat's prep is to take the truck, fresh
from the Carlisle trip, wash, detail, gas and check tire pressures and
put it back in the garage......but whatever you do.....DO NOT unload
it !!!

I know where that double secret man cave is.............I'm going to try to come in a few weeks to pick up the Dart, which reminds me I should call Bout tomorrow.

I saw Big Jim (62BT409) at the car show tonight. He was happy that the Barracuda was straighten out (so was I) I also saw this there.

Tears might be appropriate.....

Love that last pic with Jim's Hemi Demon and Your (former)
Hemi Duster together!

What was wrong/changed with the Cuda's hard starting?

Wow looks like someone loved the way your Old Duster looked, they copied it.....

Okay, you asked...................... I wanted it to start better when hot. I also wanted to get the most horsepower I could get so I took it to a dyno tuner. He was extremely efficient and tried to tune the Barracuda the best he could. The engine fell flat on its face at 5400 RPM. Put in timing, take out timing, put in fuel, take out fuel....nothing worked. I started the car this morning and sitting still couldn't get the RPM's over 5400 RPM. A friend of mine, Jim called because he talked to my other buddy Scott who told him about the issue. He said he had to run to the bank and then he would stop over. In the mean time my buddy Don stopped in to check out the car. He was with me at the dyno place also......in fact, I had to leave to take my oldest son to the airport so I left the Barracuda in good hands with Don. Jim started to setting the valves and said lets change the oil and filter and put the valve covers back on and run it. Jim finished, Don and Jim left and I finished up the valve covers and spark plugs and fired it up. I took it out on the street and hammered it....... I took it to 6000 and ten shifted.. crazy. Jim called and asked about the car and I told him about the 6000 shift. He said bring it to the car show tonight and on the way home jump on the highway and leave it in 2nd gear and try to get it over 6K I shifted at 6500 RPM with no troubles...... just crazy.

Sounds like bad plugs, we get that with bikes all the time something so simple can cause all kinds of trouble.

Could have been all of that iced tea & vodka mixture from Carlisle. I had about 2
gallons of it and finally just peed out the last of it Wednesday (I hope).

Not the plugs.... I had Autolite XP's in when it got there.... I brought 64 and 65's so we could get the best fit...... the 64's are in there now

Mark...Don't mean to pee in your Vodka....but how about inviting the guy and that orange Hemi Duster to join us at the Nats?

You may have read that Weeb's familiar limelight '72 440 Duster
will not make the Nat's due to a lunched transmission. To fill his
spot in the FABO tent he has asked me to tow his "in progress"
'67 Dart for display. The Dart has an original Direct Connection
A-body Dana 60 and is mocked up with an HDK front suspension,
a 440 and a 727 Torqueflite. This will be an excellent opportunity
to view an HDK in full exposure as the front sheetmetal is, at this
time, absent. Weeb will be driving his "Edmund Fitzgerald" Dodge
Challenger to get around this year.

Man love that Dart, sure wish I could make it up there for the Nat's, I will be trying for next year.

Yeah.....a definate project to finish for sure. Too many unfinished
projects that need to be pushed ahead a little.

In that first picture, in the background by G2 (Weeb's other property)
and under tarp is another '67 Dart.

The original A-body Dana 60 in this green Dart is brand new and
has never been in a car before. It's from the Direct Connection
program in the '70's.

Sure hope you make it for next year. I was being shown a few
"select components" this morning that are destined for your ride.

Just sitting here sipping a fine beverage from north of the border.

You guys have all of the hardware.

Between you and Ross I am going to have an "episode".
