A-Bodies...Big Motors / New Hemi Duster - FINAL ASSEMBLY

-
Hey....don't call our $hit....junk....we are awfully fond of it, and it all only getting tweeked a little

With all that going on its a wonder he has any time to sleep.

oh yeah.....no complaints....for me ....messin with these hot rods is pure heaven.

My wife keeps me grounded with a slap to the head every now and then....just to remind me what really matters (her and shoes.....in that order, I think)

Scruffs probably does 95% of the sleeping.

Jim (62BT409) just had me complete a winter update on his Hemi Demon.

He had me replace the heavy GM calipers with a Willwood set up like my
car has and also got the new style shock support hoops as his were a very
early version. He wanted to try the new QA1 12" shocks which have 5 3/8"
of travel and use a 400 Lb spring versus the 500 lb for a 10" shock.

Just about ready to go and then HemiMark's 528" injected Barracuda is going
to shed the Magnum Force front suspension in favor of an HDK.

Waiting to hear how it sits and rides with the 12" lighter springs since thats the last piece for my front end I haven't bought yet, looks like it might have paid off to drag my feet a little on this one.

the Demon sits exactly how it did before....upper fender lip 25" off the floor. ...the ride has softened up a tad and it has an additional 1-1/4" of suspension travel. It now takes 400 lbs of pressure to push the front down 1"....before it took 500 lbs, so it is 20% softer. I took a 5 mile drive before the rain came today to seat the brakes ....the RR tracks are definately smoother .

alignment tomorrow AM

I am eagerly awaiting the vision of the finished valve covers.

There are going to be some confused and curious onlookers at
the shows next summer and watching them is half of the fun.

I'm pretty sure your SuperSlammer is too low for those 12" coilovers.....I think 10" will work OK.
