My wagon project

When I was looking for a project, I was looking for a 66 Dart wagon to do something like this. I settled for a 72 Demon. This lil red wagon has a 360 crate motor and was converted to BBP disks. Very sweet!

That's my dad's wagon. That picture was taken in 1997 when he finished it. Believe it or not, it was daily driven and he racked up over 150,000 miles on it! Now it is time for a second restoration and the car will now be a weekend cruiser/fun car. I'm diving in this project over the next couple months hoping to get a lot done. Here you can see the new body hanging from the hoist. Every bolt has been removed, every bit of undercoating removed and next is some quarter panel surgery and cowl panel surgery.

Here's another picture of it at the 1998? Nats:

BTW, I had a thread about a month ago under the early A discussions for interest in REPRO tailgate skins. Respond to that thread if you have interest...

Been a while since I posted in this thread...

Still looking to find how many 66' wagon owners have factory disc brakes.

In fact, since we have a lot more posters with wagons, lets hear about your factory options on all year wagons!!!!

As far as I know on our wagon, it was these options short of being fully optioned:

Disc brakes
Power Steering
Power brakes
Electric rear window
Map light
4bbl carburetor

We added all options to the car except power steering and brakes...

My 65 V100 wagon has ONE option, no radio, but a power rear window...

Who bought the 63 Valiant wagon in Tacoma!? I ALMOST did... :violent1: White slant 6 with Cragars

That used to belong to my friend Eric. Always in the market for a trade Rocky!

What do you need Mike? An A100 perhaps! I picked up a couple more since we spoke last

Turns out that I am getting that 63 SW after all, wish me luck on a trouble free 600+ miles...

Pics when I get it home!

I thought I might offer this up before I cut tail light holes for my 65 in it. it is solid has had a repair on the left side. it had really nice paint but I had to see what was hiding. might be willing to trade for a 65 gate in the same condition.

Lots of nice pictures of early A wagons. I used to have one, but had to sell when I got divorced. I am looking again for a 65 Valiant wagon that is NOT in pristine condition. I'd love to have one again. Anyone know of one forsale before I make one out of a wagon parts car (rusty beyond belief lower section), and a good 65 body. I am not even sure my idea would work, but worth a try.

im onboard for a set of widow seals too. the guy i got my wag from also had a 68 galaxie wag. he said he got seals from jc witneys of all places. they have a bunch of diff seal profiles..he picked one that closely matched the original. not sure if that would work on the abody wag because of the corners. but may be worth a look.

now we just need to talk someone into poppin some new 1/4's.. life would be good!

This thread is making me want to get back on 66' wagon. Mine has more options than I have ever seen on another one...
V8, PS, AC, disc brakes, roof rack. I even have the build sheet and window sticker.
Gonna try and get the engine rebuilt this summer. Changing it to a 4bbl, but have all correct 66' commando parts so it will look factory correct.
