I have a 68 dart with headman shortie headers after 10 mins of driving you can hear the power steering whine like it empty in fluid the box is tight neAr the header this is using regular atf in the pump gas anyone else had this problem?
Tried 2 pumps going to try royal purple fluid next yes lines get really hotIs it actually boiling? It gets hot with use. Is this a new system, like the pump was replaced as it could be air working its way out.
I know people use ATF but PS fluid would be a better idea.
Have any of you guys had to do this?Put heat sleeves on the lines. Add a p/s cooler.
Many E bodies had them. Not sure what your problem is, but some Chrysler product cars did have factory oil coolers for the power steering. Chargers?
Can't remember.
Better to wrap the headers. Keeps the heat in the header.Put heat sleeves on the lines. Add a p/s cooler.
True, but it tends to rot the headers.Better to wrap the headers. Keeps the heat in the header.
