Aftermarket Windows

Anyone able to confirm if there are any sources for a full window replacement on a 1968 Barracuda Convertible, and/or if the ones listed on Classic Industries and other sites for the Fastback model will work?

Also, what is with the tinted (green tint) vs standard versions?

Convertible glass is specific to itself, same with notch and fastback. Body style specific.
That being said 67-9 cuda vert glass will work for you BUT you may need to swap the door guts as well. Many similarities between the 3 years and body styles, but LOTS of differences/quirks.
The green is simply the tinted version vs the clear/non tinted. Chk AMD for repop glass.

Thanks for the reply. I looked before asking and a full internet search yielded no convertible-specific glass. Looks like I'm stuck with the old stuff, with exception of a windshield. Might tint the side windows for appearance, but will determine after the build is done. 90% of it's use will be with the top down, so tinting a side window won't provide much function.

Here's who I used for replacement glass.

No issues and very well packaged. Freight for me was nuts but I'm a long ways from them.

I've purchased several pieces of OEM glass for my old Ford trucks from the same guy on eBay. Why? The first time I conversed with him he said that while they were pretty tough to begin with (vent windows), he tested his packaging by "throwing them out of the transom window of his cow barn", and if they didn't break, he knew he had Done Good.

before you order a windshield from one of the resto companies, talk to a few local window guys. I bought and supplied an AMD windshield for my '70 Dart and the window guy said he could've got it. Seals too

I've never asked them about custom glass, but, a local glass company made some glass for me a couple of times. It was just flat glass and laminated like windshield glass. A friend of mine had some curved tempered glass made once, but, it was EXPENSIVE. Apparently they have to first cut the raw glass, then bend it to the proper shape, temper it, and in his case, etch the proper logos and date code. If you're not concerned about being 100% correct for show reasons, flat laminated glass would probably work for you. I don't like them myself as they crack too easily. Not sure I understand. I am planning to get a new windshield for certain, as the OEM one has turned brown-ish along the top 6" of it. My plan was to just order one from an aftermarket supplier (i.e. AMD, Classic Industries, etc). I want the shop doing the build to install it, as I don't trust the independent installers with their 23-somethings doing the work due to likelihood of scratching my expensive paint job. Are you suggesting to source the windshield through a local glass company? If so, will it save much $$$?

Local glass guy re-installed my orig windshield (67 cuda) as I took dash out had it powder coated and redid my dash harness. He pointed out he could get me a new one...I called bs and he called supplier on the spot and would have been around $125-150 Canuck bucks. I should've went for it...
Your local glass guy could get it I bet.

Your local glass guy could get it I bet.

I didn't get an exact price from him but when I told him what an AMD repop window cost me, he said he could beat that by a few hundred. The seal would've been cheaper too. Funny enough, he could source the seal for the front window but not the back.
Mopar Virgin -- can't hurt to ask. Always good to have more options. My window guy was good. Much older than 23 and been in the business for decades. He was even okay with me having the dash bolts upside down LOL!
