I think we are Eft...Ok, had to dig through my emails to see what exactly I ordered.
I bought C5456-.036 and I’m hoping that’s what I should have ordered.
The only thing I can think of is the holes for the cooling are a little bigger..I think that phone call i've been putting off needs to happen tomorrow. I read the info about the cooling passage differences somewhere, but I can't recall where, and I'm 100% sure I would want some kind of confirmation. The only thing I'm sure of is that they list a different gasket.

Well that was close to zero information lol...That's my thought. I found a post on moparts that talked about the issue, but mentions the magnum version of the heads.'

Yeah they have the 1008 listed for Edelbrock and another one as well... They list and Edelbrock gasket but it's probably just a relabel 8553 as it's about the same thickness... when you look the gasket out there's some guy complaining that it's just a blue fel pro gasket with Edelbrock name on the package...read the last couple of post, and not to butt in but.... is this just a cometic thing on the cooling? Cool, because I bought 1008 for mine.Yeah they have the 1008 listed for Edelbrock and another one as well... I asked what was different about the C5917 because that note j par posted, saying EQ or Edelbrock heads. I have the Magnum version Edelbrock head so I worried about getting something else.
Cometic responded saying the difference is specifically around the coolant passages to match those heads.
If these C5917 gaskets show up on time, they should be here around the end of next week. I got my fingers crossed.
On the Summit site, you get different results if you select small block LA engine family or small block Magnum engine family. I guess Cometic knows what they are doing, and Summit has decent listings.

I think we sent yellow rose scrambling as well.. LOL...Just remembered I have pictures of my EQ 318A heads that just came back from the machine shop a couple weeks ago. I looked at a set of Speedmaster aluminum heads I have here and the coolant passages are all round, same as LA version Edelbrock heads.
The EQ heads were always designed as a Magnum head to begin with, and it's coolant passages are like triangles, and maybe bigger than Speedmaster and LA heads.
So, if you guys are running Speedmaster or LA version Edelbrock heads, you should be good with any Cometic gasket that does NOT specify that it's for EQ heads. That means j par ordered the right ones for his, i think.
