John, Not sure where the problem is?

But then again I an number four out of 8 kids and we didn't have much food to eat so

everytime i go into this thread and see your avatar I want to go watch Bullitt.
So what your saying is your alway's looking over your shoulder. lol.
Usually scouting the rear view for cherries!!
Ahem. Ahem.
When I went back and re-read that comment it dawned on me that some of the younger members may not be familiar with the use of the term 'cherries' as a synonym for law enforcement with their lights flashing. A few of them may have taken it as an indication that I'm prowling around looking for under age girls. While I do not deny I have a tendency to ogle women, I'm not a perv or any other member of government.
Slang terms change over the years. I wonder if I had said that me and my bud had been flippin' kitties in a parking lot. He shouts "Cherries!" and I replied "F*kin' A, Rollers!" Do you suppose that the under 40 crowd would know what the bleep I was talking about?Yeah, I guess you could take that term either way, of course now a days, the law have become tricky and mount the lights inside. And a lot of these young girls look like they are a lot older then they really are!:wack:

As far as the way that young girls look nowadays, I agree. They all want to look older than their age. Give them about ten more years and they'll all be trying to look younger than they are. I'm glad I had boys.
Hay John!
I threw the old crappy hedders on today so I could findout if my wiring was correct. Guess what?
That badboy started up on the first revolution. Ya it was loud as hell but it was cool....
I cant wait till I can mount up the new set I ordered.
Any headway on the house painting today?
I realize that some of the stuff I do is pretty rinky-dink. The motor that we'd borrowed to be our test mule for assembling accessories is pretty sad. Most of the oil was gone because the pan was rusted out. Even though we tried to get as much of the rust and scum off it still looks rough. The silver paint that we rattle canned over it was just an experiment to see if we'd like to paint our 512 that color. The silver should make it easier to see if we have any clearance issues with K-member and our accessories. It was a can of cheap household enamel.
I used my $2 swap meet puller to remove the harmonic balancer. As rusty as that motor was I'd expected it to put up a fight but it didn't. I don't have another stand use so I disassembled the 512 block and put the 400 core engine on it's stand.
Our 512 block is pretty clean.

The core block is full of tarry oil.

We won't be able to run a mechanical fuel pump. One of the brackets for the compressor acts as a block of plate for the fuel pump.

It doesn't look as bad after I started hanging our parts on it. The Edelbrock heads had to be bolted on so that we would be certain that ALL of our parts were going to work together. I don't want to chance a mis-alignment during this process. The Milodon oil pan went on too. I'll have to be certain that it clears the new K-member.

That's a lot of stuff to hang on the front yet.

As I added the components I could see that I'm going to have a nightmare getting all the pulleys to align.

I suppose it's unreasonable to expect anyone to make a kit that has all the brackets made that would have had all of our pulleys align. I'll be banging my head against the wall for days trying to change bushing/spacer lengths.
Lol. I do this "pulley align" on almost a weekly ritual. NOTHING EVER FITS PERFECT!!!. Sometimes you want to find the designer and nut-punch them.....
Pully alignment isnt to bad when its all stock. What you have going there is an off set, misaligned juggernaut. I'm confident you will have it sorted out in no time. I think your wired that way. A puzzle solver. If nothing else a puzzle piece jamer. If it dont fit, make it fit.
