Another Mopar Off My Bucket List - Barracuda Fastback

-
I hate voicing my gripes about non-car related subjects on this site, but my build thread has morphed into sort of a daily blog. FABO has been sort of a refuge to go to when I want to escape the drama of everyday life. Cars may not be the only thing in my life but working on them does consume a good part of my time. They're my passion. My garage is my oasis.

I am anxious to get past the house melodrama so I can return to tinkering. Hopefully I'll still be able to make the time to hit a handful of car shows and maybe the drag strip this year. There's a rod run 25 miles away this weekend that I'd love to attend but I'll have to skip. - And there's a Good Guys event coming up in Lincoln, Nebraska that I'll be missing too. Oh well, no rest for the wicked I guess....

Hang in there John.
It'll work out one way or another.

Thanks again, ariffle. - But it's the 'another' that worries me.

Before we left to work on the house today a buddy of mine from Alaska stopped over to visit. He's the guy I'd bought my 440 Sixpack Superbee from years ago. He checked out some of the cars I've got and said he was tempted to buy my Duster but I'm not sure how serious he was. We talked about old times and some of our misadventures. 'Back in the day' we'd each had a lot of nice Mopars that we've regretted selling since. It was too cold to get much work done this a.m. so it was good to have the bs session before heading out. No time for tinkering with the vehicles yet.

I'll bet you worked your butt off at the old house today.
Whatever you do, don't go hurtin yourself. Your Mopar's will be upset if you are unable to play when the house sauga is seen thru to the end.
Just to rub it in, I was able to work on my car today. I was just buttoning up a few odds and ends and I had to re-drill the hole in the firewall for the spedo cable. Someone went ahead and welded that hole closed. (me)
The spedo cable was a pain to put in. I had to remove the shift bracket that mounts to the trans. to enable me to get a wrench on the cable fitting.
Is that enough rubbing it in?
:glasses7: :burnout:

Sounds like fun!? Did you really need a speedometer? I usually wait for the cops to tell me how fast I was going. #-o

Hope you didn't fall off a ladder today John..
We haven't heard form you today. Ant updates on the house?

Evil Knievel jumped buses with a motorcycle.

Joey Chitwood did all sorts of stunts driving on two wheels in cars.

The Flying Wolenzas flew through the air in their trapeze act.

I put a ladder on the sloped roof of our porch and stretch as far as I can to scrape & paint. Somehow I wish I had their jobs.

I've been bouncing from one job on the house to another. Landscaping, foundation repair, window replacement, painting, etc... The painting isn't done yet but I've completed the blue on the East & West sides and am close to done on the North. 12 windows left to install - 11 done. We've had rain off and on most days so I wasn't able to keep my attention on exterior painting.

Feel for you, man. Every average middle aged male, seems to get stuck with this. I'm single, my sisters try this sh*t. At least you own, where you're at.

I thought that wisdom was supposed to come with age? LOL.

I used to be afraid of death but Teresa's got her grandkids here for the night...

Humor offset's wisdom in certain circles, & time sucking family issues make you appreciate certain situations, you really don't want. (Sarcasm, obviously intended)

I think I'm suffering from Mopar withdrawal.

The day started out rainy again so I made a supply run to Columbus for some of the windows and cement block. I installed the 7 upstairs windows today. - 5 more to go. I need to do some concrete/brick repair work on the basement outside entry. Menards doesn't stock vertical mortar so I'll have to order it online.

I was wondering the same thing, no post in 3 days.
I hope he did not jump off a ladder or something.

John, I am expecting a big post here pretty soon with lots of pics and adventures! You just can't cut an addict off like this, I am starting to get the DTs. Hope you are doing ok.

Maybe we need to round up a posse to Nebraska! I think that small town arrested him when they found out he fraternized with Moparites.

I have his phone number off a package he sent me, will try to call him today to see if he is OK. I tried texting him a few days ago, but no response (not sure if the number is his cell or landline)
