LOL, Neil Young, BTO, Rush, Guess Who, Shania Twain, Sarah Mclachlan, Blue Rodeo, Tom Cochrane, John Kay(ever hear of Steppenwolf??), Anne Murray, Rush, The Band, Gordon Lightfoot, Stomping Tom Connors(RIP)....lol should I go on?? Did I say Rush?? Not needing recognition, just pointing out some DAMNED good music North of the border. Take the musical blinders off lol
RIP Gord, and THANK YOU!

**EDIT** Killer6 beat me to the list and added a few that even I had forgotten about. Pat Traverse eh?? "Boom boom out go the lights" and "Snortin whiskey, drinking cocaine" classics.
Thanks Killer6

Don't forget Cory Hart,or Sass Jordan. Technically speaking, John Kay ( née Jochaim Krauladat) is German, but did pass through Toronto.

HIP never made it in the states for what ever reason. It's ok and I am glad we have something in Canada that is our own. "Glad to be Canadian and Glad of what my idea is of being Canadian is" GD

i wonder why they never admitted to being canadians?

LOL! I'm not quite sure that's the case,, they just like to keep their treasures a secret?

Jeff Healey was local to me(Lindsay Ontario) and when I say incredible, he was. About 30 years ago I was walking past a bar in Lindsay called Dedos and heard live music. Dedos was known as a dance bar(not my style) but this time some good rock n roll. Poked my head inside and there was Jeff Healey, sitting in a chair on the dance floor with guitar across his lap and playing it. Something looked odd(besides me in a dance bar), took me a second to realize Jeff was blind. Mesmerized by his guitar skills. Jumped on the pay phone(yes pay phone lol) called a couple buddies and said you gotta check out this blind guy playing guitar. Incredible.
Dont forget Bob and Doug Mckenzie, Nickelback, My Darkest Days, Three Days Grace, Theory of a Dead Man(**Roadrunner Records**), Trooper, Asia........
quick shot of 68 cuda in "Low life" plus they are signed by Roadrunner records.

Ya'll are strayin' from Gord, but since we are bringing up Canadian talent that may not be known as such, Tommy Chong. Yes Cheech's buddy was born in Edmonton Alberta.

Hey, We were sticking to musicians/singers, oh that's right......they did do a Christmas song huh,.......LOL!!

Going to stray from musicians again, LOL. How many of our American brothers know that the game of basketball is Canadian...... that's right, invented by a Canadian in the 1800s. LOL

And yes, the loss of Gord is tragic. My good buddy Dave who passed earlier this year of cancer was a huge fan. I am sure he is having a drink and singing with Gord right now. RIP boys.

I watched it as well thru blurry eyes. Wonderfully made. I think it depicted Gord, the band and the reciprocal love we have for him as Canadians. A must see
Watched it with my wife. There were quite a few tears. Even though she's originally from Colombia, she loves Gord and the Hip.
