Another problem for us on trans brake-HELP

-
Not me I did not put a JW valve body in it, I had custom trans blanket made for it, was that still in the car?

Jason-NONE of this reflects on you,In retrospect you have been a blessing to us even answering on a sat. afternoon when we were at a race in mich.If anyone has a problem doing deals with you send them to me or this thread to read.-Steve

You know the whole process with this car has taught us a lesson but in looking back what are a couple guy's just starting out in drag racing supposed to do???? I can answer that now -LOL-BUild the car from the ground up !!!!!!! or the people you buy the car from let you pull heads,Pull the trany to see what really is in there-HUH like that will happen,Build it from scratch and be done--Lesson learned--Steve

So somewhere between D-wire's ownership and you, items were pulled and a bunch of stuff swapped out in the car.

Outside of Joe being hard to get in touch with, how is any of this his fault that the product doesn't work?

I'm not defending or attacking anyone, asking how are the numerous conclusions supported? Sounds like there's a lot of bus driving that may be unnecessary. :)

You should call Joe and tell him you are sorry....LOL....maybe he will answer....jk...lol

Ya Right Tony you think I haven't been calling and e-mailing I have--Maybe you have the magic touch you said he answers every-time for you.Steve

Cracked you don't think the plunger being sidways is a problem in a two week old valve body???? Steve

The bad clutches didn't cause it,The bad bands didn't cause it,The sprague being junk didn't cause it,it was a manufacturing defect on Joe's part--Steve

Crap happens on race cars.

Did you personally buy the trans from joe and install it? If not, there is plenty to point that things got swapped out on this car.

Rolled sprags happen all the time in TF transmissions. Common issue.

rolled sprags can certainly happen, but I wouldn't say "common"....

even drunk guys can build torqueflights!

I don't always rebuild transmission, when I have vasoline, transmissions worry! :)

little fun at the track.... helped a friend out that broke the hub that the input shaft splines into. Swap meet 727 for some parts and he was able to make it for quick 16 in the morning :)

If you are going to buy a new race trans get a Pro trans. They are in California. It's worth the freight. Most of the Super stock and stock mopar guys run a pro trans.
The son of the owner won the national championship in Super Stock with a 68 dart. I have a 727 with a trans brake. The B1 motor has over 825 HP. The converter is an ATI it stalls at 5800. The car weighs 3000. They are very consistent. I won a wally with my car, even hot lapping didn't hurt the consistency. PRO TRANS IS the way to go. The local guys can freshen them for you as needed. Good luck.

Dave at Pro Trans is top shelf. I was having some issues with my ancient Lofgren built trans and he was able to point out the culprit worn stator support seals causing my creep. They looked fine to me, but he was able to point out as to "why" they were not working correctly.

.....but being you're in Wisconsin, if you are within a drive to the twin cities I wouldn't hesitate for a second to have Chuck Lofgren build you a race trans if that's the route you are considering.

next time you need to rebuild a torqueflite at the strip...remember...i got a few of the special tools for them...and it is only 5 miles from the track...LOL

Never even THOUGHT of giving you a call Tony.....DUH!!! Slide hammers would have been really handy over the bolt/washer/prybar science we used:banghead:. Luckily there were a couple of beer drinkers hanging out in their swap area and they had a core Don bought. Whole fiasco started at 9:00 or so and we had it buttoned up and ready to run by 1am. He was ready to throw in the towel and push the car in the trailer..... beer logic changed all that!
