another question

[70 DUSTER 340]

1-does anyone know where to find the vin stamped into the rear housing on a 71 duster if they did that.
2-I have a part number off my piston from the 340 and was wondering if it is standard bore or not 2899479 is there any place to check this out
I'm only asking these questions because so far we have been lucky and everything is vin matching so far car, motor and trans.

I think it's supposed to be on the R/H tube on the top side somewhere. I'm not sure it's the VIN though. Only a number denoting the year, etc.

no VIN on rear housing. should be on parcel shelf.

2899479-80 is casting number for late 340 piston, Early 340 pistons were left/right w/2 valve reliefs. I would measure but assume std bore.
