any 4 speed racers out there?? post them up

Not a race car but I have taken my Dart to the track a few times. Going to MATS agan with it next year. It is a lot of fun.

Ya I'm planning on building my car to a 4 speed. It will have a pretty potent small block. Mostly a street car that will see track sometimes. I'm thinking a 18 spline?

Don't underestimate the strength of a 23 spline. In fact, just going by the vague description you give here, I'm 100% confident that you would not need an 18 spline.

4 speed for me. Best of 10.16 with a 440. Factory crank OOTB EZ's and six pack rods. Its a blast, and going to be quicker this winter.

Automatics are great for women.....and minivans

Someday I plan a jerico but for now the old school feel of the 833 will have to do.

Check out the link below for a go pro view from in the car at the track.

My car is a street/strip vehicle, (more street than strip) has run a best of 12.2@ 115 mph.

Looks like you have the combo figured out.
Nice shifting.

here's a in car of mine, didn't have a whole lot of luck with the stick. the car is just to darn heavy for a chrysler box... wish i had the coin for a Jerico

Here is the old car. This was the first time I had it at the track. Lost due to a breakout, bought back in and took home the win in the finals at the end of the night.

Our Dart is much more a street car but it does get raced occasionally. Only runs high 13's/low 14's on rock hard street tires, with a sixty foot time that is embarrassing (3.7 is the worst so far *blush*)

Here's a picture of the Duster with 440 and 4-speed I used to race. Best was a 7.94 in the 1/8th. My best friend built me a late model 4-speed, but put a 3.09 first gear out of an early model in it.

I pulled all the 4-speed stuff out of it before it was sold so I could use it in the Barracuda behind my 500ci 440. I'm hoping to be ready for Spring.

Your scamp is amazing. What's your motor setup??
Not sure if you meant mine, but It is a R3 block, Scat crank and rods, 11.30 comp, Indy heads fully ported, indy intake also ported , 860 Pro systems Carb, bullet cam 700 lift with the T@D 1.65 rockers. 10" race clutch from Advanced clutches. I only have 6 passes on this combo and have a few bugs to work out before I through the Nos at it, I am hoping for 1.3s 60's and mid 9s on engine only and hi 8s on a 150 shot of Nos. That's with the 833 trans.
here is on of my 1/8 mile pass.

^^^^^ we think alike, iam 24yrs old grew up in a 69 swinger 340 4speed and 69 RR 383 4speed and bunch of auto cars, i hate autos with a passion i have absolutly no use for them other then in a cummins powerd p.u.

Power shifting is a lost art-form, it takes alot of skill and brass to keep the peddle down and flat shift exspecially with these damn heavy mechanical linkage 833's there not exactly the easiest shifting transmissions keeps the 4speeds alive
