any 80s rock you like to listen to in ur mopar?

-
I grew up in the 80s so the 80s music was just one of those things to me. AC/DC, Metallica, those bands I really didn't get into until I got older. Believe it or not I listened to rap, not hip hop, but rap, from groups like NWA, Public Enemy, BDP when I was a kid.

Here's PE and Anthrax (yeah, hard core rap and heavy metal seemed to be a good mix.)

Still pop in the old cassettes every once in a while to relive a little youth.

Today, I like music with a guitar edge, so the heavy metal and hard rock is more my thing.

Like good vocals, too.

Here's one I like. This chick isn't bad looking and when my wife let's go, she can belt it out like this. Love my wife's voice when she gets going.

If I was still a moderator I'd edit your racist post NOW. There's certain styles of music I don't like, but I'm not one to use blanket derogatory statements.

Don't forget that one of the greatest 80's heavy metal vocalist, Rob Halford, is gay. Any comment there?
:angry7:
X2 :coffee2: This is one that stuck in my mind from the 80'es

I still have every cd I bought way back when.....

I guess we should get this thread going again. http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=63848

Wylde1.

I was just thinking about all the one's I don't play anymore that I bought back when the CD craze first hit in the mid 80's. When they were made in Germany. I remember when the Beatles stagered there releases and brought out 4 at a time at first. This was after everybody else was on cd. 1987? maybe.

When I noticed your "Kickstart my heart" entry I though about "The best video thread! Thats the one I kicked it off with.....well actually memike downloaded it and then showed me how it was done.

It's the '70s but don't discount the Deep Purple Machine Head album....
Smoke on the water and highway star works for me.
Good music is timeless.

My take is based on growing up in the 80s- rolling my 67 notch 1987-88 with hideaway head unit and two 6X9s blaring. And Justice For All just came out. Sweet Child of Mine was on the radio.

First of all there is nothing that comes close to Megadeth and Metallica. That stuff was underground at the time- NEVER heard it on the radio... until the black album came out in 1990- and even then it had to be after midnight.

Warrant, (later) Def Leppard, Poison, Stryper, Cindarella, White Lion, Great White, etc. were all poseurs at the time. Since, some have become legit, but at the time it was for ladies only.

On the other side of the spectrum Slayer, Motorhead, WASP and a bunch of others were for head-bangers only.... and playing that risked alienating the ladies.

Guns and Roses get the prize for dropping right in the middle of the 80s and, while popular (on the radio), somehow were cool, too. Metallica got there with the Enter Sandman, but it took them longer.

All of the 60s and 70s bands were in play, too. Led Zeppelin, Sabbath (Ozzy), Cheap Trick, Alice Cooper, Stones, Eric Clapton, Pink Floyd, Ted Nugent, Allman Bros, KISS, etc.

For the rap guys, yeah a bunch of headbangers got into NWA and stuff, but that was toward the end of the era. Enter crack. The first wave (Kool and the Gang, Run DMC, Fat Boys, et al) was fun, but the later gansta stuff not so much, IMO.

And for the kids who didn't live it, catch The Decline of Western Civilization Part II:The Metal Years.

I didnt mean jiggaboo as a racist term. but how can you think raps a form of music when every word is durogatory? theres no talent theres no singing the only talent id say was that of the beat in mixing anyone can call there women bad names and talk about drugs and big rims and clothes etc but dont get me wrong im nowhere near racist. i have many black friends and they all listen to that stuff its just not for me. but jiggaboo was not intended to be racist racist i wouldve came out and said the N word and i belive jiggaboo means white boy acting gangster if im not mistaken, at least thats what the blacks here call them. that or wanksters

Not all rap music is as you described, but your description is a credible sterotype.

Jiggaboo is specifically a racist term. Any denying if that fact is simply back peddling.

Yeah, kind of sucks, too, because I don't think he meant it. "I'm not racist, I have plenty of black friends" is one of the most racist things you can say.
