I’m working on it. There’s only one 1/64 Dart Sport casting in the world as far as I know and it’s a pretty low quality sculpt of a ‘75...but it’s the best I’ve got. I found a reasonable facsimile of my wheels and some old JL tires fit perfectly... 90A3796B-0594-44A8-9CE1-F4CDF5F9DAB6.jpeg

I would love to build a replica of my car, but I can't figure out how to make plastic rust.

I haven't done any of my cars, but I did one for a good friend years ago. He gave it back to me weeks before he died. Said he wanted me to have it. RIP Larry.

Are you going to clean up that Dart Sport casting?

I see some pretty bad mold parting lines that look like they'd clean up with a jewelers file.

I am 90% done with a replica of my 86 CS Daytona.
Had to make the T tops and the many modifications to the doors, C pillars, and windshield frame.

I have a near complete replica of my 73 Duster.
Still working on the 72 Demon scoop I had on it but you can tell what it is.

I have sourced the "Daisy Duke" kit and the MUCH better frame and engine compartment from a 71 Charger for a replica of my 73 Satellite.

I found a resin kit for my 67 Belvedere wagon.

I started a replica of my 70 SUper Bee, complete with peeling vinyl top and rust in the typical 68-70 B body places.

Check out model railroad media for how to make plastic rust.
There is rust colored paint, weathering powders, and more.
Some people are crazy good at "weathering".

                I've never seen a 66 Valiant model before, but I have a 62 and it's a 4 door.

The 66 Valiant is a scratch built model. Started with a 66 Barracuda funny and grafted a 65 Valiant Craftsman kit trunk lid. I used his left over paint from his Valiant restoration. It even has a photo-reduced copy of the title in the back seat.

Well, the Johnny Lightning guys did. But I didn't like the generic chrome mags they put on it, so I customized one of them with some rally wheels I took off a Duster.

I should also paint the engine red instead of Hemi orange.

I made a model of my ‘75 Scamp back in the mid 90’s but, since there wasn’t a great selection of A bodies back then, I settled on using a ‘68 Dart GTS model and painted it just like my Scamp.

Back in the early 90's I made a model of an ex-girlfriend's '69 firebird, complete with her Cult "Love" album custom front license plate and a couple of her favorite CD's on the seat.

I have a '65 Valiant resin on the bench now. Bought it from Bandit Resins a little while back. Uses a '69 'cuda chassis. Torn between using the 440 that came in the kit (knowing it fits) or trying to adapt a 340 from another kit.
Either way, it will be a replica of my first car other than mine was a sedan and this is a hardtop. I even bought the correct color medium blue poly paint from scalefinishes.:)
Actually have 3 cars on the bench now. Only thing really left on any of them is paint. Afraid I'll screw them up as one is my replica, one is a replica of my sons '71 Charger, and one is a tribute car that a good friend of mine owned.

I'm doing just the opposite, building a project to match the model kit I purchased on EBay, my '72 Satellite Sebring Plus with '72 Road Runner grille, '71 side marker lights, and '71 rear bumper/tail lights. Still need to fabricate wing and nosecone.

I seen this thread yesterday and looked on eBay for a 73 Duster... I found a model bumper for sale for twenty-five bucks and gave up instantly LOL....

I have the factory dealership promo of the '73 Duster, but you wouldn't like the price. :) The price you saw was just for the bumper of the promo. I have been collecting the dealership promo's of the mopar muscle cars. Nice display case in my living room

Just be thankful you don't have a '69 coronet convertible, that might cost you 2000 bucks LOL

Yes I would want one not put together and still in the original box so I could see this pricing me out... It's not typical for me to buy something that I can't use in some fashion... I'm not saying it's beyond me but just not typical...

Dealership promo's come assembled, available only from the dealership at the time the car was brand new. In other words, they are as old as the real car. That's why they are collectable and expensive. Kind of like your direct connection collection. You want a model kit.

You are going to have to scratch build a 2 door post. There are 68 Dart kits out there to start with. Even MPC took the easy way out.
