The reason i ask is that i have a se t of buckets out of a '94 Escort and i want to figure out how to mount them withthe rails that are on them...It can be done im just not sure how

Well, first off let me say welcome to a fellow colorado member. I"m just up the road in Lyons.

I mounted seats and tracks from a 2005 Scion TC in my 68 Dart. I did it the hard way by modifying the floor to fit the seats. Basically cut out the old Raised up sections from the floor, where the bench seat used to mount and welded in flat metal.

Most guys will build an adapter bracket using some 1"x1" square metal tubing and weld on brackets or whatever they need to make the adapter fit the seat, and fit the floor.

If you dont have a welder and some metal skills you might have some problems. I have heard that there are some late model seats that will bolt right in, but i'm not sure which ones.
Good luck

I put 03 wrx seats in mine, actually sat in the car for the first time in 12 yrs last wk!!! I cut the factory mounting tabs off the seats, (below the sliding tracks) and welded flat tabs in their place. Then I used some box steel as mentioned. to get the correct depth/height to meet my factory bucket holes. I have seen company's sell "brackets" that will mount aftermarket seats in our cars, I dont know if they would bolt to your escort seats...

Easiest way is to delete the bench risers, doing this as we speak actually. Cut the top off and remove material until your happy with the flatness.

I did mine the way Mile High Dart mentioned.
I put the rear mounting frame just behind but right up against the back of the hump in the floor and raised the original brackets/sliders 2 inches off the floor.
Then raised the front 1 inch.
The seats I used were from a 91 BMW 325 and I had then recovered in the two tone.
The seat track for the BMW fit a totally flat floor so I had to vary the height of the front bracket mounts to adjust for forward/rear and left/right angles.
I have access to a welder and all the equipment and it took a good section of a day to get them done.

I also found that what works best is to get a bunch of 2x4 pieces and block one of the seats in for sitting in, to get the right height that I needed.
I am 6' 2" so I needed them a little lower than some might.

dartdude, I am also doing them w/o the aid of a welder...much harder..seems like the passenger side is easier....I am not there yet.
