Wondering what you have done to mate the old and new? What size fitting does the hemi's PS pump use?

Local shops that used to make hoses are disappearing. I have found one that will take your old fittings and crimp them onto new hose, but that wont work well for me plus I dont have pressure hose from the hemi.

I don't have any answers, but I am curious about this as well, especially if anyone is using the borgeson box.

I've run with factory ps and Borgeson ps. I used 73 and 71 factory hoses for both. The power steering pump side is standard vs metric, but the threads fit and the o ring fitting is nearly perfect. Zero leaks.

You might try looking at late eighties diplomats and maybe trucks. For my magnum swap, I used a hose from an 86 diplomat, has metric on pump end, but standard on the steering box end. Not sure what size the hemi stuff is, but it's worth a shot. Usually has to be something in the goofy half-metric-half-standard late eighties early nineties vintage.

I converted mine to 6an using a circle track pump, then you make your own lines.

Thank for the tip! Turns out the hose (Edelmann 71124) from a 1980 Dodge M600 has the ends I needed and I was able to tweak the tubing to fit my truck. So for less than $20 I have exactly what I needed. A far cry from the $150+ I was quoted by Pirtec for a custom hose.

FYI for anyone needing the info- the 5.7 hemi power steering pump uses a 16mm o-ring fitting.
My Warlock uses a 7/16" male inverted flare (MIF) on the pressure side of the steering box.

Messin' wid hozaz is easy, IF..............

You have the right ends

They are in good shape

They are steel.

There are several things you can do...........

Saw the end off the old hose and braze a "standard??" ?common? fitting onto the steel, such as a no6 male flare. Now you can have a "tractor" (hydraulics) shop make up a common hose. Some of these places also will silver braze the ends

The other thing (all I remember is Weatherhead brand no's) Some of the hose companies make high pressure, heavy duty compression hose ends just for this purpose

The W' head part no for 2 braid, no 6 hose is 06U- series, and for a 5/16 tube it is 06U-755, for 3/8 tub is 06U-756

Like so

The other thing is, many of the aftermarket replacement hoses uses a "3 part" system, where the two ends fit a companion hose. IF you can find a smart, cooperative parts guy, you can "mix" these parts to get what you need.

In my beat-up old Landcruiser, I used to run a Mopar pump (smallblock) with a GM Saginaw box

If I'm not mistaken, you need to do something to keep the new pump from blowing the guts out of the old steering box. The new pump operates at much higher pressure than the ones that were originally in our old vehicles. I remember someone on here having to deal with this issue, but can't remember who it was?

Hoses can be made at most john deere and new Holland dealers ans heavy equipment shops.

From what I have read the concerns were with blowing seals. Some guys had problems, some didn't. Talking with the Pirtek rep last weekend, he mentioned it could cause twitchy steering as well. I plan on dealing with that if it turns out to be an issue. There are a few options to bring the pressure down if needed.

Glad my cheapness helped someone else out!:burnout:

Found my part number:
Edelman 70344

had to rebend a bit. That is for the borgeson with Bergman adapter and hemi pump.
