This flex plate is for a externally balanced 360 with a 727.

B&M makes one for a 904 and one for the 727.
Two different part numbers. If I remember right, the 727 part is a tad to
big for a 904 trans.

Not true. The converter bolt pattern is exactly the same. How do I know?? Cause I just installed one for a 727 Trans on a 904 a couple days ago! It will even fit if you have a stock converter with 5/16 bolts because it is dual drilled for both 5/16 or 7/16 bolts.

Just because it fits may not mean it's right. I would call B&M and ask them why there are two different part numbers for the 904 and 727 and go from there. I could be wrong though.

You are wrong! Last time I checked a Trans has nothing to do with the balance of an engine. If it bolts up it will work, plain and simple.

I would still call and talk to the people that designed and engineered this product rather than just taking someones word for it. If you do a side by side comparison you can see the 904 cutout is much different than the 727.

"....if it bolts up it works plain and simple"..???????????? WTF

I wouldn't let you within 50 feet of my stuff....

I'm with Dartman call the manufacturers

B and M 360 to 904--- part number 10241 no longer available

Yeah seems you have never wrenched on one yourself. You also probabably believe that there is no way for a 5 bolt LA valve cover to fit on a 10 bolt Magnum head. Lol

Rocket so sorry for this. Actuallly I do run a b&m flexplate bolted to my 904 and it is the right one. Not the one that fits. Just look at both parts and tell me they are the same. You would be lying to me. The right part numbers are 10236 and 10239 from jegs.

Only difference is the converter bolt spacing. The 10239 has the wider 11" spacing used on some of the later Magnum engines. The 10236 is dual drilled but only 5/16 bolts for the 11" spacing converter bolts. It does have both 5/16 & 7/16 for the 10" spacing.

And I am fairly certain that Part #10235 is for the 1 year only 1973 external balanced 340. I don't care what it says online. How do I know this? Cause I have one sitting in my shop that I just pulled off a 1973 340 external balance engine a couple days ago.

10241 is the 360 Magnum to 904

The thrust of my comments were directed at the "slap it on and try it attitude"

Lol, you need to do more research cause your flat out wrong. Part #10239 is for the Magnum wider spacing converter. The only difference on all of these plates are converter bolt pattern. So when I say if it bolts up it will work it definitely will.

Only one that is weighted different is the 1 year 1973 340 external balance converter. Part #10235

Please prove me wrong on this. I'm waiting!

didn't get a chance to finish do I need to put up more....................

Your links all go to the same place.......

Again only difference in these plates is the converter bolt pattern whether its 727 or 904 dont matter. If it bolts up it works. Except for the 1 year external balance 340 that is weighted different.

So back to the question, Will this plate for sale work on a 360 with a 904 or 727 transmission?. Yes it for damn sure will.

I didn't say you couldn't modify something to work, I am saying that B ad M specifically designed 10241 for 360 mag to 904 period. How many places that advertise or show it in that capacity do I have to post????

Your missing the point there is no modification needed. If it bolts up to the crank and converter it will work. Has nothing to do with the balance.
