What are some ideas to stop the rusting until I'm ready to work on it thought about this stuff we have at work but if you bump it to it its greasy

Yeah I thought about that to but I think after 6 months the rust will come back because of moisture, but I could maybe shoot some cheap primer on it also

Cheap primer may haunt you later.
Buy a gallon of summits 2k Hs urethane primer, it will run you less than $100.

Those are all great ideas
My brothers challenger has been in opsho for at least 5 years and its not rusting. It will rust if you touch it or if water drops get on it. Heavy consendation will do it too.
If you need any better protection than that I would recommend epoxy primer.
