Looking to buy a Scatter shield for my small block.. New or used. Any suggestions on quality and or availability would be helpful. Time to upgrade, no more risk taking ;)

I've seen a couple of Lakewood cans for sale here on FABO. Worth doing a search.

If you car is 11.50 or slower you don't need a sticker on the can. 11.49 and quicker you need a sticker, but not once have I been asked about it. Just letting you know what the rules are.

I've never used other than Lakewood. I'd buy used if you can. As long as it hasn't had an explosion in it.

Lakewoods are good with the block plate. If you have a stock bell on the car now and the clutch pedal action works well, measure from the flywheel face to arm pivot point. Make sure the Lakewood comes in at the distance or closer. I've had a bunch of issue with clutches over the years and had to make a pivot spacers for the Lakewoods. Pivot was further away from flywheel than stock, messing up geometry.

Don't forget Craigslist. I bought a Lakewood off the Atlanta Craigslist last summer for $30.00. It didn't have the engine plate. So I am looking for one of those.

There's a lakewood smallblock engine plate on the Akron/Canton Ohio craigslist if you're still looking

Is the rumor true about the engine plate putting pressure on the rear main causing a slow leaks?

the opening in the block plate is large enough that it does not affect the rear main seal. I sold this for $300.
