Looking at getting better compression out of my 360 it's in a 66 barracuda so far I have the rpm gap intake 750 carb but swapping it down to a 650 and a 218/224 cam so far have stick heads but looking to get around 400 horses out of this engine what's a good head to go with

I dont think 400's gonna happen with that cam or carb, but you might look at the RHS heads. They are nice.

Ya still slowly building it just wanting better compression from what I've read they say that is a better starting point

Yup. It's all in the heads for sure.

I think your going to need a bigger cam! Your heads with good port work should be ok, bigger valves wouldn't hurt.

keep the 750, add Magnum type heads that have smaller chambers and also 1.6 rockers. find one the articles written on porting them and give it a try. best of luck! Bob

400HP is possible with that cam but the problem is the head flow and comp ratio. You'll need to have the heads done well and milled a good bit.

I would love to have a set of the Airwolf Heads but the problem is Bryce is unreachable. After SEVERAL emails, MULTIPLE phone calls & at least 5 messages at his shop saying I want to order a set of these heads. He never answer's his phone, emails or calls back. I have been trying to get a set of these heads ordered for well over 2 months..... He is a Ghost!

with a 218/224 at .050 cam, airwolfs???

Think the port speed might be a bit slow?

Before you start looking at replacing cylinder heads I'd recommend you measure the volume of your current cylinder heads and also check how far down the bore your piston is at TDC.

You will need burette and a dial indicator with a magnetic base (a lot cheaper than a new set of heads!)

Doing this means you can determine your current compression ratio and determine if 400hp is achievable with some milling, I'd recommend minimum 9.5:1 static.

The stock 360 heads can be ported to make 400hp. they won't need much more than a tidy around the short turn and guide bosses. you'll probably want 2.02" intake valves.

I think Airwolfs would be overkill since they allegedly support up to 600hp. As Crackedback said they are a bit large on the port volume and not necessary for a 400hp 360.

The 750carb and air gap manifold are a good realistic combo for 400hp, you'll probably want a cam with more duration. Talk to a few cam manufacturers. but off the top of my head something along the lines of 237/242 @ .050 on a 108 lobe separation angle should get you there with ease.

Hope this helps.

That's kinda how I feel about Rodney over at Alcohol Injection Systems...Bastard won't answer the phone, answer my emails, or my questions I sent, not even a PM back I sent a couple over at yellowbullet...

He rants and raves about how sweet his water/meth kits are, but yet doesn't care to get back to anyone.

How'd you get ahold of the friggin guy?

DAMN

You don't. You find another avenue and piss on the guy. I caint stand when people offer a service and it's impossible to get. I just move on.

Yep, why have an email addy and a phone number listed and never answer either one of them?

I got ahold of him probably 2 years ago now. I don't understand some of these guys and especially guys in this trade that try and hold you Hostage and screw you over, F**k that ****!! Call someone else is my new motto. Screw em'.... I will NOT be recommending anyone who pulls that kinda crap on me any longer.

We just did a 360 with a 218-224 hyd. roller cam, OOTB eddy magnum heads, rpm airgap, 800 eddy carb, 9.6:1 and TTI headers.
It made over 400HP with no problem!
