74Dusted
Stock Piler of 340's
I've used a tire before when nothing else was around.
Normally the engine is mounted to a skid/pallet though.
The last engine I hauled (a 273) I just dropped in the back of my Dakota, shoved some scrap landscape timbers under each side (between the bed & motor mounts/oil pan) and then strapped it down. Held fine going through twisting winding mountain roads.
You can see it (kinda) behind the spare tire on my Dakota. Just used one large ratchet binder and hooked it to my rear bumper and inside the bed.
I actually drove around for a month with that engine in the back of my truck, lol. Until I found the time to unload it... It's now powering my '84 Dodge D50
