Installing flexplate on a 440 build. Just checking here:
-Is the orientation correct?
-What is the torque spec?
-Do I need to tighten these in a star pattern?
-Is red or blue loctite needed?
Thanks.

Bonus questions:
-What torque spec for the bolts that connect the torque convertor to the flexplate?
-Torque specs for the transmission to the engine block?

Yep, it only fits one way.
Loctite is a good idea.
All the torque specs for the entire car are in the FSM.
If you don't have one, stop right where you are until you do get one.

When you go to bolt the converter to the flex plate, you wont be able to get a ratchet and socket in there. You will most likely have to use a box end wrench. Just FYI - torque to where your elbow is ready to give out,. and that should equate to tight enough........

Strange that you can’t fit a socket on there.
How would the factory torque them then?

Do you use loctite on those bolts?

I run a drop of blue loctite on each bolt. Before doing that be sure all the bolts thread because the flexplate will only align to the TC bolt holes one way. When I had my engine out I put the flexplate onto the TC and found how things aligned, then I marked the TC and flexplate with a little spray paint so it would be easier to assemble when they were together. Also, thread the bolts finger tight but don't tighten them until all are in. Sometimes you have to move the flexplate just a little one way or another to get everything to align. After they align, pull one bolt out and put your loctite on it and rethread and tighten... then do the rest like that.

My new OEM flex plate bolts had what looked like a red stripe of loctite tape on them. I used fresh red anyway as the factory applied tape was probably too aged, and the flex plate supplier told me to use red. Just my 2 cents worth.
