One thing I have NOT enjoyed about our present home is the dust. Something I hope there will be less of at the new place. Here is how the underhood looks on a car that was primarily kept in a garage, with the hood closed, and NEVER (obviously) driven anywhere.
Today, that hybrid header panel went to the scrap yard. Basically, a good rust-free 68 panel that just needed to have the "nose" ground off but....9 months and no takers. Along with the old rear drums and some random steel bits and pieces I got $6.25.
On the upside, we should be closing on the new house before week's end so I am planning to have the flatbed take Biohazard down to the exhaust shop on Friday. Keeping fingers crossed!
Is your hood a 69 barracuda hood or is it from a 73-76 dart? I know people say they are identical, but there are differences in the sub frame and I know that when a friend tried to fit one to his 69 notchback the gaps and fit were all wrong compared to the original barracuda hood.
In all honesty, I'd be guessing. All I can say is that it is the hood that was on the car when I got it...not that that helps any. Got any identifying tips?
Yes. The 73-76 dart hoods have crumple points in the underhood structure that are not there on the 69 barracuda hoods. Look for a series of gentle creases (like three in a row or so) in the structure on the underside of the hood.
Super excited. We close tomorrow.
Garage is super huge. Standard 16' door on the 2-car side and a 10' on the single.
In a pinch, like if there was a hailstorm coming, I believe I could stuff 4 vehicles in it.
One more...just for shizzies. At our present house, the Taco just barely fits in the 2-car and will NOT fit in the single bay where the fish had been kept. See how the Taco fits in the new stable!
