since I have not been given the privilege of seeing your ride in person, I dont know. But I have 4.5" at the frame rails.yours looks close to that. I just have sheet metal at the same elevation AFF as the frame rails under the car. Thats what gives it that look. Once the AlterK is in place the ride will probably have to be adjusted up a bit. Thanks for the kudos.

A quick up date. I have once again stripped out the interior to ,I think, complete the welding inside the cabin. I put in place the attachment points for the sanctioned 5 point harness, I still have to weld tabs onto the horizontal bar for the rear straps.
I have also started to put the final coat of matte urethane on the dash, the interior panels and the consoles. I do believe this will take a while to get it right.I did get the package tray complete and modified for the roll cage.

here are a couple of progress pics on the interior. I have the dash back in and pad on, the carbon panels have their first coat of semigloss clear. I still have the sail panels to take back out, to install the new wing windows, so they will get their second coat then.
The door panels need to be taken off when the electric window systems arrive, they ship mid sept.

I finally clear coated the front grill and the trim piece thats at the top.The aluminum got preped with bulldog AP and black primer then the lettering was painted with enamel and then sprayed with the automotive clear.
Its the little details that are genning me excited about how sharp this car will be when its done. I also reposted the two different turn signal colors in case there are some who never got to see the post in body and paint.

I love that grille. thats how the factory should have made them. I hate those big ugly turn signals on the stock ones.

This is one of those projects I actually dont have construction pics as I went. I took a second grill and cut out the old turn signals and used the centersection from the second grill to fill in the missing pieces. The turn signals are each made out of two LED strips i got off of Ebay for a couple of bucks each. I had to strip the strips of their protective coating of cast plastic and recombine them with new cast plastic so the two fit next to each other top and bottom in the .375" space between the horizontal pieces of the grill.

There are two lighting schemes, the first is the legal DOT scheme with all the right colors in the appropriate places and the other is all blue. this is chosen by the flick of a switch all at once.
I am probably the biggest glutton for punishment youll ever know, the complexity of the electrical system in this car constantly makes me say to myself WTF were you thinking?

About the LED lights, you can buy replacement bulbs, with LEDs in them. I just took strips of LEDs and installed them in place of the bulbs.Just do a search for LED strips on Ebay they're very cheap.

Here are the pics of the wing window restoration.
I was going to but brand new glass but they wanted $144 each for the glass. I found someone on Ebay parting out a duster and got the two windows with frames and gaskets for $70 shipped. When they arrived the glass was almost perfect and the gaskets were still supple. There was a little rust on the bottom of the frames but some sanding and some rust killer took care of that.
I drilled out all the rivets and slid the glass from frames. The gaskets were cleaned with purple power and the frames were painted with an enamel. I did install new foam wetherstripping and seal the back corner with seam sealer.
the main reason for the disassembly was to be able to get rid of all of the chrome an paint it black with the semigloss clear on top.
After reassembely they look like new windows.

I also got a chance to reconsider the headlight bucket finish after comparing the candy apple blue to a semi gloss black. The black looks so much cooler and meaner so thats what Im going with. I stripped the buckets and used some Bulldog AP, some black primer and the clear.
Here are the before and after.

the plan is a naturally aspirated R1 or R3 -416. final CR aprox 11:1.The build is for 92 octane pump gas. Im still on the fence about carb or TBI.

you sure about the 11:00 to 1......on pump gas???

just my "old school" experience.......
may I recommend under 10....closer to 9.5
our mopars (mostly big block though) like to have more advanced timing with lower compression vs the higher (above 10:00) and have to retard the timing....unless you like the spark knock on 92 octane...that retarded timing makes em' sound and run like a station wagon

maybe the newer stuff is different....

the DCR is what it needs to be to run on 92 octane, Thats a discussion we can have when I get closer to the build of the motor.

no problem...I'm still livin' in the 70's with my motor/suspension set-ups...but I'm always willin' to learn
