No deals but there radiators are very factory looking.
I agree. Recore. There are no deals on radiators. Find a good OE unit and have a new core put into it. Still radiator shops out there to do the work for you and new cores available. I run 6 cars on #'s OE radiators and they all run just above the thermostat, Hemi included.
6 cylinder rads are small…..Doing a Mild 318 build will a slant 6 radiator be fine?
no.Doing a Mild 318 build will a slant 6 radiator be fine?
Do you know where to buy new cores? I've done some re-cores but I don't have access to the same equipment now but I think I can still pull it off. There are no deals on radiators. I just trust my 3rd generation radiator shop in town. Current owner went to school with my Son and his old man, 70 years old, comes in to do classics. Once he's done wanting something to do... I'm f'd. Son has no interest, he just uses the old shop as his office to fill has aftermarket warehouses here in town and in Texas.Do you know where to buy new cores? it'll be fine till about the middle of june when you'll start thinking about changing thermostats and upgrading to a highflow waterpump. ;DYeah I have a slant 6 radiator still but not sure it can cool my street 360 LA
With respect, This opinion is worthless. Not all OE radiators work well. Typical pump gas fuel isn't the same as it was, it boils off. You live in Ontario. Does it get to 112 out there? 140+ on the pavement? Standing Traffic ? Do you run ethanol blended gasoline? You probably never had vapor lock in Ontario. Some stock radiators are inadequate in such environments. I never had a 22" radiator that could keep up with the heat in a southern driven car, in the afternoon... A stock 26" does okay, even for several hours but not with several of the aforementioned conditions combined. The opening for the overflow bottle impedes the cooling system, boiling off when overheated. I drove a 73 RR across I-10 and the overflow would leak out. There are no deals on radiators. No sarcasm you are a better man than me, but far more important than either of us are the junior enthusiasts or others with ignorance that rely on members wisdom/knowledge/edperience to make the best decision. These future members or enthusiasts will be shopping-for, spending, hard-earned time and money to pursue their hobby dreams and we don't want them to have to do it twice or mislead them with blanket statements. I probably came off as an asshole, I probably am some times-but I followed this exact advice years ago only to be plagued with a slow over heating issue. At that point in history, my time was extremely precious as I was only in country about 3 months a year (for decades) and most of that time was spent at work. GOD bless you dadsbeeYou can stop reading them anytime you wish!
that being said, there are members here with the age, experience, wisdom and "knowledge" that constantly and consistently give out terrible, no good, very bad advice..... but far more important than either of us are the junior enthusiasts or others with ignorance that rely on members wisdom/knowledge/edperience to make the best decision. lol, I am only one man. To make the world a better place, we gotta take one step at a time. The humility is I might be part of the problem, in some other way. I know when I watch 'Dan the Man' ask a bunch of questions, argue, not listen, and not have a car-that 'I' was that guy before him. I'd like think my questions and attitude were better, but probably not as others who dealt with it would claim.that being said, there are members here with the age, experience, wisdom and "knowledge" that constantly and consistently give out terrible, no good, very bad advice.
that's excellent because i alone cannot give out *all* the bad advice.lol, I am only one man. To make the world a better place, we gotta take one step at a time.
