Need advice i bought a spot blaster / vac combo. What would be the best media to use in. I would like to take the car down to bare metal and have herd that sand can sometimes warp the metal.

Best way to remove quarter panel trim or and pointers please. It on a 66 Cuda.

Thank you for your time...

William

Google media blasting and read about various medias and techniques before you start. Sand will ruin panel skins. Most any media can ruin lock cylinders. Knowledge is the way to success. Good luck

I did my engine compartment, at 1st tried using a 40# abrasive blaster with walnut shells for the media - my air compressor wasn't big enough so abandoned that - very
messy also(you need to box in the area so can sweep up and reuse shells.) Then
tried the aircraft paint remover - messy and wasn't working that well. Then tried the
paint remover wheel with my 4 1/2" grinder - worked but went through the pad quickly.
then bought a 3" twisted wire cup brush from Harbor Freight for 5.99 and it works the
balls - just make sure you wear safety glasses. They sell the same cup brush at Lowe's
with the DeWalt label for 14.99. I used 2 wheels for stripping my engine compartment
down to bare metal.
