Can someone tell me how this attaches to the rear end..?

don't overtighten it and strip it. and throw a little sealant on the threads.

It runs parallel to the axle tubes.

Also is your breather hole on the side of the hump or on the axle tube?

Different year cars use a different flex hose. And the two types are different lengths.

The flex hose you have is the 69? Or 70 up on the housing tube type.
