Brazilian Dodge Dart 76 (similar to 69 usa)

LOL, you're right. I did a one-to-one translation from Portuguese to English.

Thermo-retractable....lol. I love it.

Sounds like you bought something from the US Government.

Civilians here call it heat shrink tubing. :D

a few more progress on wiring

green/white = oil sensor
pink = coil
white = ground (goes to headlight switch).
probably colors are different from USA models.

I always use 2 layers of hot shrink tubes.
left portion of wire used to be pink.

orange/black = temperature sensor
red = car alternator
red and black terminals = don't know. Probably voltage regulator or cluster battery signal lamp.

That looks different.....no crappy bulkhead connectors?

Don't forget your grommet where the wire passes through the firewall.

Looking good Alex! :happy1:

hi momoparman, how are you?

brazilian dodges, until 1972, are very very (very once more) similar to 68 or 69 US dodges.
I think that brazilian 1969 and 1970 dodges are the same US models.
72 and previous Brazilian dodge models have a similar wiring, including the bulkhead connectors on firewall. These models also use an a-body rallye dash cluster.

Newer models, including my actual car (1973), present a few differences from US models, including wiring, taillights, front grille, etc.

Good Alex...thanks for asking.

So no bulkhead on your model? I see the wire passing directly through the firewall....or am i seeing things?

Car is looking great and your super close now. Hope your lady appreciates all the time your spending on the car since your doing it just so she can look cool when she's riding along. :D

yes, wires do pass directly through the firewall.
I just have to use this protecting stuff to hold wire in place

My wife is enjoying a lot my car...

Um not to be sexist but isn't she standing on the wrong side of the car? She is the passenger right? :D

Kidding. Looking good for sure.....and the car isn't bad looking either.

Been following your build for awhile, real dedication to your build and very motivating, can't wait to see it done.

Very impressed by your attention to detail. I can't wait to see it done, I bet you are looking forward to that day too. Good job!

unfortunately it will take a while to finish my car. Lot of details to rebuild.
at least, I'm working a bit every day.

A thing that is annoying me is painting some small parts. I have a lot of them to paint. Don't know why, but seems I stuck! I'll try to clean my home shop (a small room I have to work on dodge) and paint some stuff.

a few years ago, I have to give my car taillights to a friend because he crashed his car.

Now, I have a national (Brazilian) pair of taillights. They are totally plastic/acrylic. I think they are weak.

This way, I'm looking for cheap 68 dart taillights. I need at least bezels and lens (housing I may use a 69-72 Brazilian models). If someone has these parts, please send me a message.

Don't need bezel chrome in good shape. I will paint it as the following photo:

Worst job ever.

I've done a few now and its a real pain to install any type of sound/heat proofing. Hard on the knees, hands and wrists. But as they say 'no pain, no gain'. You will love the difference it makes towards making the car feel solid and quiet. Are you planning on using some inside the doors? I did - and it makes a huge improvement on how solid it sounds when you close it.

Looking good as usual. One thing a day and it will be done soon!
