Brazilian Dodge Dart 76 (similar to 69 usa)

when the time comes, you could probably cut out a 1/2 inch out of each leg of each bumper bracket, weld back together, and then set depth with a shim pack. ive done that before.

If your headers are hitting steering linkage try sliding engine/trans back. I had to notch the motor mount slots on my k-member a little on one side to get mine to slide back. Also might need shims between motor mounts and k-frame to raise engine a little bit. The factory k-frames on these cars are very sloppy and usually header problems are caused by engine not located correctly on the k-frame.

You wont hurt the performance by "adjusting" the diameter. Just mark it and hit it using a hammer and a round dowel to leave the desired impression.

Go for it......were all counting on you. :D

I have heard that you can also heat and bend the linkage down to clear the header pipe. Probably not too much or it will throw off the geometry.

A friend here in Brazil suggested this. I'll try a few more things. I do not trust bending idler arm

Just a lil tap tap and your home.....tappy tappy...:violent1::D

Bending an idler arm is not a good idea when there is a safer alternative....just whack the **** out of it.....tap tap.

I've installed a shim between engine mount and kframe.
Later I show a photo. Basically I used a piece of metal of 5mm.

Removed the idler arm...trimmed a piece of its bolt... just a few millimeters (about 2 or 3mm).

Things are really tight... but everything is "working" properly.

I thing a carefully "tap tap" :)violent1::violent1:) will let everything perfect! I will think until the end of the day

HOLY CRAP! Alex, you have come a looooong way with your Dodge. And you're still married!

Congradulations...

my wife is laughing here.

I've just painted a few parts .... ON LAUNDRY because it's raining.

I think a black t-shirt mine became white :D :D

z bar was twisted (I think). Once again, used the right tool (3kg hammer)..

With a hammer? Lol,I used to call those Harley Davidson wrenches.

I had to make this part (I think its called fork rod)... Don't know if it will work well.. will try until I do not find an original...

Looks like a good "temporary fix" till you find the right one....if ever:D

You may want to make it a bit thicker on the hole end with a washer or two.

I can see where you are and the sound of a running engine is in your near future.
