Brazilian Dodge Dart 76 (similar to 69 usa)

-
Hi Lucas

I emailed pedro some days ago. He went to a dragstrip and Marquinho said
tha he dad some problems with carb.

Once I did a joke with Pedro.. I said that I´m going to beat his car using my car with air condictionair and old tires.. :D :D :D

I´ll try to back to work on my car. I´m having bad days (perhapes a bad year).. things aren´t the way I expected and my mind can´t stay calm.

Hey Alex, long time no see! The car is wonderful! Can't wait to see it done. My brother's (Pedro) Dart is finished, I will send some pics to you! Regards,

Lucas

hi
I'm a lot disappointed with myself.

I did not manage well the live in new city.
Thus, "I lost my will".. I just living, trying to keep my mind in place and search for new alternatives.

I let my car in a car shop.. I don´t know if the owner worked on it last month. I asked him to fix some hurst in the trunk and weld some minor details.

I will try to go there tomorrow.. Than I took some photos.

best wishes for all!

Any updates?

Alex don't you still have that hot girlfriend. How about her giving you a jump start so you can get going on your car again.

I 'flushed' the garden.

I´m preparing the place to extend my parking garage. There will be the place where I will park the dodge dart and work on it.

Right now we´re parking our 2 cars under the veranda. In a future (1 year from now).. I intend to cover the remainder of the front area.

the bad news are: the painter didn´t work in the car during the last 2 month!
unfortunately I was working a lot and I also didn´t anything cool.

Life is getting better and better. Hope to work a lot in a few weeks in my car.

Hi Alex. My wife and I were back in Brazil last month (to keep up our permanent visas), but only to Rondonia & Amazonas. Someday I'd love to see the south.

Hi Neto,
be my guest. We´re living in a city near Rio (about 2 hours).

Hey!! It's very nice to find another Brazillian in the forum!

I'm from Rio Grande do Sul but now live in Australia. I have a 1970 Dodge Dart which I have finally shipped over, after 5 years away from my car I couldn't wait to have it here in Australia!

I know how difficult and expensive it is to restore/maintain a Dodge in Brazil, but don't give up. These cars need to be kept for the new generations to enjoy as well. Plus, these cars are awesome fun!!!

I hope you finish your restoration, once everything is done you're going to be the proudest guy around and will enjoy the best ride you can get in Brazil!

Wish you the best of luck mate!

I think it's much easier to find parts at the junkyard then at home.

after 2 big house moves.. tons of boxes full of parts.. I'm trying to find what I need to back to work

this photo shows a room at my new (definitly) home.. at my mother's home I store 2 doors, bumpers, mirros, windshiel, wheels, and trims.. a lot of trims

bought these seats.
Now I'll try to make a new cover.. as the original seats used to be 38 years ago.

I really like how this'd seats look in the car. If I'd ever change my bench seat, I'd go for some of those.

Send pics of the finished product!!

Cheers

Hi guys, such long time!

I've working a lot.
I have talked to the painter... he will work on my car in this month!
if he does not work, I will bring it home.. now I have a HOME!!!! my own home!!! (really happy)...

I don't need a 100% car.. just need a dart do drive.. do run.. to ride.. to have fun.

On November, I found the original front seats. Now I have to rebuild them. The chess like black/white vinyl will be hard to reproduce.. but I think I can.

I lost my carb. Don't know where I have placed it. It was a 650 spread bore mech (holley). Well, life goes on...

I also bought a compressor. I works fine.. tomorrow I will paint my front home gates.

Hope to post my car photos soon

Alex

Santa Claus gave me a gift... :D

Bring that baby home!

Having two Mopars and NONE on the road is to make anyone crazy!
Just get that Magnum rolling safelly, and continue working on the Dart...when the Dart is done, THAN start working on the Magnum!

Congrats my friend!

Last Saturday I went to Belo Horizonte (Brazil) to drive the dodge I bought to home.
We run about 280km (175 miles). Totally a crazy thing... old tires, old suspension bushings... but I enjoyed a lot!

Great shot, Alex !!!
I just imagine the journey back home...
Nothing like a Sumatra Brown Metallic, Emotion ´79 !!!!
Congratulations, my friend !!!!

Alex, does that Magnum run on natural gas?

Hi, the magnum is running on natural gas.. but.. I will remove it as son as possible...

I will list the strength and the weakness

strength: economy... I spent 50% less money during my last trip.

The natural gas costs about 1,90 Brazilian money (reais).. the gas costs about 2,80. Car is consuming 1 m3 of gas to run 10km.

In countries as US, where gas is cheap, I think that use natural gas is a complete waist of time (and money)

weakness:

the car became weak...
the muffler sound looks like an old man farting
car truck is now useless as the gas cylinders are huge
engine bay has a ugly part that controls the natural gas.
every year we have to go to an inspection.. thus, we spend money and time
Some friends told me that headers heats a lot when using natural gas

well, I'm not a big fan of natural gas..
