Build suggestions for 340?

-
Great thread.., but has anyone used the Lunati version of the 340 Hi Po cam part # 10201002...considering it for my build.
Lunati says: 298/308 duration @ 50 232/242, 462 intake lift / 473 exhaust lift LSA 112 /112. 2500-6500 RPM range. Also using J heads, with 2.02's. 68-70 exh, mans. Thinking about 2 1/2" head pipes with 3" H pipe exhaust dumping at rear axle, any feedback.?

This cam is almost the identical grind I had in my Duster....450/.475 lift and 298/308 duration. It was a wicked combo with a nice, lumpy idle and balls aplenty. My only negative comment would be that my engine vacuum at idle was low enough to affect the power brake action, but that may also have been tied to the Torker single plane I was running.

Hot Rod 20 ! I have a cam in my 410 with similar specs. It is a Howards cam designed by Mike at B3 engines. It is 237/243 @ 50 with 610 lift with 1.6 ratio rockers on a 112 lobe sep. My old combo had a Hughes 234/238 110 lobe sep cam and made 392 rwhp. The new combo makes 425 rwhp and now revs cleanly to 6500. It has lost a little bit of torque according to the dyno results but feels much better on the road. Idles nice at 750rpm and does not buck and jump. I do now have a victor 340 manifold now instead of the rpm air gap and trick flow heads. It hardly feels cammy now and drives much better than before. The 112 lobe sep really calms it down I think.

It does because the 112 LSA gave away a good bit of torque.
