Hey all.

I am doing a 4-Speed swap on my 69 dart and have a built 904 transmission that I will be selling. Is anyone in the market for one and what do you all think it's worth?

Thanks!

Custom 904 Tranny
No bushings (all roller bearing)
Billet steel Hi-drum billet aluminum forward drum
TCI full manual rev valve body
TCS 8 inch Hi stall converter
Hurst shifter

Super nice Dart. Who built the trans?

Nice car. How much you have in the transmission is what you should ask. Add to the price if you have some room for profit. I already deleted a half assed offer in a members post (which we don't allow) Most "what's it worth" threads get deleted because of offers to buy. Just a FYI.

Realistically used stuff sells for 60% of what it cost new if it's good shape. Not for what you have into it +.

it looks like most builders list similar spec competition units in the 3K range so i'd use that as a starting point.

that thing seems like it's le boeuf which kinda takes most of the unwashed masses out of the market, leaving a more serious crowd-- which could be a good thing, or a bad thing. generally somebody spending that kinda dough for a trans is having it built specifically for their application, especially the torque converter so they may not see value in coughing up a bunch of dough for something that they're going to have to modify for their needs.

if you have a detailed build sheet that contains specs and the shop that did the work is a known entity that can certainly move the needle. but used racy stuff is usually 50~60% off list.

Three years ago I sold my 727 for $1000. Billet drum, TCS pump gear, rear roller support, trans brake ready, basic attention to detail build. Valve body was not included. I feel the only reason I got that much was it was someone I knew and he knows how I roll. Honestly I wish I’d a kept it and one of the converters

Selling a transmission assembled with high dollar parts to someone you don't know is going to be tough. How would a potential buyer know what he or she is getting? Because of that, you'll likely get pennies on the dollar unfortunately unless you decide to take it apart and sell it unassembled or part by part.
