I do agree that the red accents on the trim on the dash just doesn't do it for me as well as that silver painted dash frame.
Otherwise, what a beautiful car it will be!

thanks for your input on the dash...I'm with you. I think a simple sliver outline, the white gauge background along with the carbon fiber inlay would do the trick.
 
got rid of the orange outline. the radio face will get outlined and the HVAC will got the text highlighted in silver....but looking better IMO

While I copied the way Butler tied the frames, this coffee getter is not getting a cage. Fortunately, the cage on the Butch Leal / California Flash / Direct Connection Hemi Duster I restored was still completely intact. Butch describes Butler as a perfectionist!

ditched the orange outline bezels....now basic black with sliver lettering on the HVAC bezel.

repro...OER from Summit / Atech. a couple hundred cheaper than the used I bought at the Nats for the silver HemiDuster. Fit and finish...10 out of 10.
 
got the 408 on the test stand. Just a few more details before fire up.

first for me.....NGK plugs take a 13/16 socket but the socket will not fit in the spark plug hole? .....guess I need the 5/8 plugs?

Yo Denny the red accent delete was a win for sure, like some of the other folks I figure your car, your way, so I did not fess up to my opinion. But looks much better now. I finally got the 72 Demon running and a million thanks for enduring the many phone calls and humorously enduring all my rookie questions! Without your guidance, and most of all your HDK front end, I would still be sitting there trying to sort it out! Thanks again! See ya this summer!

A benefit of the out of the car component test fit / run in is you can easily see where clearance issues might arise and rectify them before flying hammers and swearing become the fix.

I have read about clearance issues with header primaries and the power steering box and the steering components. This combo had the header resting on the box and the steering arm too close for comfort. 3/16" shims were placed under the insulators solving both problems while still keeping the engine level. When the engine goes in the car, it will get 1/4" aluminum plates / shims between the K mounts and the rubber insulators.
