Can an auto console be hacked for a 4-speed?

I'm considering a parts swap with a member who has a console similar to this one:

This looks like the one in my 69 Dart GT. I currently have this console setup, with auto and the floor shifter. I'm wondering if this console could be modified, removing the auto window and modifying it so I can put a 4-speed in it. Has anyone done this?

It could if you want to save money. Cut a hole and install a shifter boot. The 4 speed lids aren't cheap

Yes, it can be done- have seen it multiple times; some done well, some hack jobs. The thing to keep in mind is that you will still need to find and use and the appropriate console shifter- which is also not easy or cheap...
