Couldn’t get my timing dialed in. Acted like timing was off a tooth so took the cover off to take a look. Timing marks were aligned. Decided to pull the cam. I bought this cam 20+ years ago used and it went in the engine. Once engine was built it sat on a crate for 20+ years.

Without finding anything obvious with the timing mark alignment, I need to ID the cam. I was told it was a MoPar purple cam and I bought it around the year 2000. I am not finding anything online when searching the numbers stamped on the end. Is there a cross reference sheet to the actual MoPar part number somewhere?

Since most MP cams have different lift from one grind to the next, carefully measuring the lobe lift and multiplying by 1.5 will often tell you which cam it is.

Using a pair of micrometers to measure here is what I am seeing

1.571 - Base Circle & Lobe Lift

1.253 - Base Circle

1.571-1.253 = 0.318 - Lobe Lift

.318x 1.5 rockers equals .472 lift
.318 x 1.6 rockers equals .504 lift
