I kept several when the old gas station closed where I worked as a kid. I also have their old Brookins oil can. I think it is either a one gallon of 5 quart. I will have to go get it and snap a picture.

Been a while since I've seen one of them!

When I was a kid I used to crush the paper cans sometimes because I didn't push hard/fast enough.

I've never used one but I recognized it.

I remember my grandpa using a church key on Hershey syrup when I was little. Man how time had changed things

Still have one of those in my toolbox! I keep it around for "historical reference".

I remember working the gas pumps at a gas station here in town...24 cents a gal at that time. Punched many a can with that thing!! But most folks were poor and wanted the "Bulk" oil which was much cheaper out of this big barrel.

Best part about the job as a teenager was late Friday and Saturday when the strip dancers were getting off of work and come in for gas. They wore super short skirts and we would fight amongst ourselves to see who would get to clean the girl's windshields to look down the short skirts....OOPs, did I say that out loud????
I swear those girls had the DAMN cleanest windshields in the whole city..LOL!!

NEVER found one of those that didn't leak!!!

Then remember the genius snap on funnel/ screw on lid that snapped on the cans?

AND THEN they "just started making" the "cans" that way!!

And these.........not only did they leak, but you could lubricate the entire top of your engine!!

There you go!!! That's the can we used to fill with bulk oil, think it was 5/10 cents a quart back in the 60s??

Just like a can of beans piercing with a dull steak knife to open.......

I was so poor I couldn't even pay attention!
