Here's the deluxe model

This thread made me a little nervous before I opened it. I was afraid it was some sort of twisted police line-up to identify a crime suspect.

My collection, Western Auto circa 1976, Castrol probably about the same (not dated). By the early 80's these would be a thing of the past. I have a spout to go with them.

Has anyone seen one of these. When they went from leaded fuel to unleaded fuel the nozzles were bigger on leaded fuel. So they had these adapters I use to sell these when I worked in parts store

I remember working the gas pumps at a gas station here in town...24 cents a gal at that time. Punched many a can with that thing!! But most folks were poor and wanted the "Bulk" oil which was much cheaper out of this big barrel.

Best part about the job as a teenager was late Friday and Saturday when the strip dancers were getting off of work and come in for gas. They wore super short skirts and we would fight amongst ourselves to see who would get to clean the girl's windshields to look down the short skirts....OOPs, did I say that out loud????
I swear those girls had the DAMN cleanest windshields in the whole city..LOL!!

Best part of my job as a teenager too. Only mine weren't strippers. They were the ladies that worked at the Air Force Base close to town, and the other young girls around town. Middle to late 60's. You know, during the mini skirt craze!!!

I remember this one time, in about 1976, this young girl, my one-day-soon,wife-to-be, wore a miniskirt. I was hooked and we wed the following spring. I was almost 24; some things truly are worth waiting for.

Used to be that they used straight 30 weight oil on the ways of all the machines in the shop I worked at. It came in 55 gallon drums, and boy was it nice to fill up a gallon jug for old smoky to burn! Saved a lot of beer money in my youth!!

I never forget those days, wish I could go back in time:

Aw man we're getting on; I remember when that song came out! I miss those days mightily.
Hyup, in our class of 69 school-pics there's a lotta, lotta very long legs showing and the boys all got long hair a-flowing. We were "in" back then, but it looks a little crazy today.
I turned 16 that summer, and I got me a drivers license, whoot! I was one of the older boys in class,,my mother having kept me back a year, due to having to walk nearly three miles to school. And so I was one of the first in my grade to actually own a car. I suddenly had a lotta friends. You know, you can put a lotta kids into a 57 Belaire! I was so cool, lol. I spent the spring or summer of 69 "rebuilding" that oil-burning 283. I learned a bit about oilcans too. Up here the gas was I think about 37cents a gallonImp so about 29USg.But that mightabin 1970. Cuz those years our money was pretty close to even.

Yeah I remember those good times and my grandkids love listening to my stories. Hard for them to believe how electronics have changed and don't believe me about party lines on phones. lol

Party lines! We still had them IIRC in this rinky dink town I live in in 1980. No, that can't be right can it? IDK. I might be losing my memory, or inventing memories, lol.
Remember when you flipped a coin for who goes on top?
Naw, me either........

Yep we did a lot of stuff 50 years ago that kids now days couldn't get by with

I remember having the option on landlines where you could ask for 2 or 3 different rings. It was great I would give one number to the people I didn't always want to talk to .. If the phone rang once every 2 or 3 seconds (regular rings) that was the regular line. If it rang twice in quick succession it was someone that I might not want to talk to...old girl friends, etc.

My phone number growing up at home was 884-6455 but they used to refer to it as Tulip 46455. Don't know why?? One landline in the middle hall of the house with a 30 ft cord so you could haul it into your room for a private conversation.

Yes , I blame myself!!!

And since I was one of the members that helped drive the train off the tracks here's a good brain teaser!! My Dad passed this down to me as we used it thousands of times fixing motors. No not the vice grips, they are there to give the tool some scale.:

IDK what you used it for, but that’s a bung tool for opening the bung cap on a fluid drum.
NOPE!! This is an oil drum bung tool, they are similar but one has cutouts while the has protrusions. Keep trying........and you might win a Cupie doll (what's that??)

I used to valet cars at a hotel or a club and same ****: we would see a hooker or a bunch of club chicks pull up in a car and we were tripping over ourselves to see who could open the car door and lend them a hand so they could swing the pins over and try and get out in their mini skirts. I had a group of 3 come out drunker than hell, and they asked for their keys. My boss said No F'n way so I asked them if I could drive them home in their car while my buddy followed me in my car. All went well until I got on the freeway and all of them passed out cold. I parked the car in their driveway, put the keys in the glovebox and left them there. Buddy drove me back and we never saw them again.
